RE: Week 9: UAB Football vs. Southern Miss Preview, Analysis and Prediction
According to our radio coverage, the UNCC QB had a lot of time to roam around behind his OL while looking for his receivers. If the USM QB has that same amount of time without any UAB linemen or blitzing LBs getting into his face, it will a long day for our team. Pressure on the opponent's QB is the best means of pass defense.

Charlotte outplayed and outcoached us straight up, which honestly is a little depressing to think about. They also had 100 more yards in penalties and we still lost. Was pretty much a gimme game

Listening to the coaches show reminded me of how things have changed. We only get one coach interview per week and they rarely give out injury reports. Apparently RB Brown and WR Wilson were banged up leading up to Charlotte. Not an excuse, but it could have effected things. Hopefully guys aren't too banged up this week.

Understand injuries, but we didn't even give Noble, Lee, Or Stephens an opportunity. It's like if brown can't have the stats, F it. Coack K calling all the delays or running screen passes behind our line of scrimmage. When your O line is begging to call run plays and you're not, might as well be point shaving. we've got WRs, we don't use em down the field..... It's a bad time to be playing Southern Miss and have Garrick McGee calling our offense.

I love when our medium backs come in because they tun with a little explosion. It's like they are scared to run any other way.

FAU let 9 different guys carry the ball in their 804 yard (447 rushing) 69-31 beatdown of North Texas. The most carries any of them had was 17. They are on fire too. In their last 3 games they scored 38 on MTSU, 58 on ODU and 69 on North Texas......could have hung close to a 100 one North Texas, had they tried to run the score up.

If guys are that nicked up, why not go next man up. I was speechless on the S. Brown jet sweep, cause he's not a jet
Also on the Noble run, when Charolotte was probably gassed, and tired of hitting bulldozer Brown. Noble and Lee late couldve saved the day.
Where was the 5-8 yard in and outs to the 6'3 receivers. Or the 6'3 receivers on the edge blocking. Is a 12 package anywhere in the playbook? Why not use a true 5 WR set instead of flexing a RB on there to do something else.
Where is a wildcat formation? When will we let Haden get a few more carries he and Noble are about the same size. What plays we can use to get the ball in Copeland's hands? He probably the best playmaker imho.
All that said I think USM is a winnable game, long as coach K doesn't F it up or special teams. Defensively we gotta get to the QB consistently, and force turnovers. We might have to shuffle guys around to get this done at all spots.
