AAC sitting pretty
SDSU is having it's ass handed to them by Fresno St. So it looks as if, unless there is a major catastrophe, that the AAC champion will be the G5 representative in the access bowl.

Yep, I think it will be

1. UCF
2. Memphis
3. USF

in that order. I feel confident against the Bulls in the title game and hope we get them

stopping USF would be a tall order for our defense

RE: AAC sitting pretty
Well, the refs killed us last year.
We should have won that game.
Tigers are definitely getting some love by polls and talking heads.

USF, with Strong, should be expected to be in polls.
Memphis has earned the right and respect to be in the polls, along with UCF.

RE: AAC sitting pretty
What does this mean in terms of DOLLAR$?
If AAC gets the G5 spot, what does each AAC school get compared to other G5s?

Think about this one... if we win out and lose the championship game then we end up going to the horrible Birmingham dump bowl!! Tell me we don't have to go back to the Birmingham Bowl!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love to see us beat up on UT or Vandy in Birmingham if we don't get the Access bowl...Military against an ACC team could be cool too.

RE: AAC sitting pretty
AAC should get the access slot 3 out of 4 years. We will always have the higher valued conference schedule with the depth of the league. As long as our top teams can get 1 P5 game squeezed in, we can afford one more loss than the other G5's and still have a reasonable shot to get in.

If we don't get that, just say no to Birmingham - please. Military in Annapolis would be fun, plays an ACC team which would be fresh, and has just as good payout as we can get anywhere else. Then there's the new bowl in Frisco that could be interesting with just as good payout as any. The Cure bowl in Orlando is our top paying bowl, I believe. Birmingham vs. SEC does not excite me.

Payout for the Peach was around $4M last year. Not sure if/how that gets split around the AAC. Our top bowls (Cure, Military, Las Vegas, Frisco) will probably be just over $1M.
