Attendance at the Houston Game
Was it just my view or did it appear there was not a huge crowd at the game in Houston? I am not sure who leads the conference in home attendance, but we should be close, granted the first game will skew our numbers. How the heck did they expect anybody with common sense to go to that one in a hurricane?

Oh, by the way, even at my advanced age, my wife and I sat through one quarter before common sense set in!

Officially it was 30,001.

The upper deck was about 1/4 full, so by my counting, the turnstile count was probably about 20-22k. Capacity is 40k and that is very, very nice stadium, by the way. In fact, a 45k replica would suit Tiger football basically perfect.

NOT a fan of their stadium, particularly with the upper deck layout.

Ugly.

UCF has some serious problems with their relatively new stadium.

The upper deck was pretty sparse, and the lower tier was not filled.

Thursday night televised game and the fan base was unhappy with the coach after getting smoked by Tulsa the week before. Sound familiar? Also, A large part of that city are living with friends and in hotels while their houses are repaired.

Yea the UCF stadium is an example of going cheap is not always the right decision. They build an all metal stadium in FL and they didn't think it would begin rusting with all the rain and humidity down there.

The build the stadium for around $50M and now they are going to have to spend $14 to $20M to repair. Bad decisions cost money!

Also, some of you are acting like Houston has a decent fanbase. They do not.

We would have 40K+, Thursday night or not.

Yea, noticeably sparse. Their student section was pretty loud though.

You need a good preventive maintenance plan from the beginning. They were probably told that and have one understaffed.

Someone sold them a bill o' goods; I think those repair costs are optimistic, not to mention all of the legal fees they spend dragging the construction/design firms into court
