Here is a combo we never see mentioned...UNM and Texas Tech.

North: Oregon, OSU, Washington, WSU, Cal, Stanford, Utah
South: UCLA, USC, Arizona, ASU, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas Tech

Gets the PAC deeper in basketball with UNM and into Texas a little with Texas Tech.

More inventory/states for a conference network.

RE: Latest info from my sources
The Pac 12 is not going to add anyone outside of the Power 5, even if they are AAU and/or land grants, unless they could demonstrate on the field that they could add value. Had New Mexio had the meteoric rise that Boise St did they might be in the conversation but they haven't.

Next time around the Pac 12 expansion offer is going to be Texas, Oklahoma, and little brothers Texas Tech and Oklahoma St, which would allow university presidents the OK from their state legislatures to make the move. They might have to make the concession that Texas gets to to keep the LHN as the cost of doing business. Do I think the deal goes through?--the answer is probably not because one or both of the big players will strike a deal with the Big Ten or SEC.

Well with Texas still not budging with the LHN. It will be more like OU and OSU. The PAC should know there are more viewers of OU/OSU than just Oklahoma.

Perhaps Miko 33 is on a right track that the PAC may expand by 2. I don't think B1G, ACC and SEC want to go to 16 members.
Seems like I remember that OU/OSU option for the PAC. Big mistake on their part.

RE: Latest info from my sources
Some future concerns:
--On line streaming subscription/resources will have a major impact on the next negotiation of broadcast rights for the P5’s.
--Could drastically effect conference alignments and $$$ value
--The Ohio St’s of the world carry the Rutger’s of the world, this will B address in the next renegotiation of broadcast rights
--Don’t B surprised 2 see a NFL type offer 4 “X” conferences/teams 2 band together 2 form their own league
--Conferences/teams will have several conversations in considering various realignment models in order to maximize revenue.

Ask urself
--How long will over the air, network television B free & still b competitive w/ satellite/cable & on line streaming services?
--Has the $$$$ value of college f-ball peaked?
--Will individual fans pay a yearly subscription just 2 watch their favorite teams/conferences?
--As the millennial generation grows older, they have shown less interest in sports broadcasting than the proceeding generations. IF that trend continues, does that diminish the $$$$ broadcast value
--7 years out, technological advances in personal entertainment and recreation could lessen the interest in broadcast $$$$ revenue for all sports in general.

You wonder if the Pac 12 should have gone to 16 with this grouping:

Syracuse
Boston College
Pittsburgh
Georgia Tech

Notre Dame would sign a deal to play 5 Pac 12 games per year. If the Pac 16 wanted to avoid having an odd number of members in other sports it could have offered to same deal to Texas or Oklahoma. Basketball would be a bit unwieldy at 22 conference games and 3 divisions, but it would have made for good mid-week programming earlier in the season.

The SEC adds North Carolina State and Virginia Tech. The Big Ten follows with North Carolina and Virginia.

With the ACC's Northern expansion stopped cold and the loss of Georgia Tech, the Big 12 offers Louisville, Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Duke, and Wake Forest. If Texas or Oklahoma departs, then the Big 12 adds one of Memphis, Houston, or Cincinnati.

Or if they go for central time zone Baylor and Rice might be a good fit? Just don't see BYU going to the PAC.

Yeah, those West Coast schools will pick Baylor.

Scott mentioned that the backup plan for number 13 and 14 are San Diego State (academics is there) and Boise State (money maker team). Scott and Slive mentioned that the top G5 schools could get into the P5. Both AAC and MWC are a threat to become power conferences. North Dakota State and South Dakota State both could be a threat in the future. If the P6 wants to break away from the NCAA? they would pick apart the best schools that they want from the G5, FCS, D1 schools, D2 and D3.

I’m hearing....UCONN and Cincy to the PAC. I’m burning my source here but the people should know. I’m the people’s champ.
B12 responds with UCSF.
B10 goes MEM in a shocker. And....BYU
Boise to the SEC....they need that Mountain time zone to keep up. They take in ECU as well ‘cause attendance

RE: Latest info from my sources
The PAC 12 expands by adding the University of British Columbia (Vancouver) and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Mexico City). Both are extremely prestigious and highly selective research universities. In the process, the PAC 12 becomes the first truly international college conference and thus adopts a new name -- the NAFTA 14.

A dejected Boise State reverts to its recent origins as a mediocre, run-of-the mill high school with a preponderance of Basque students (English is a second language). BYU responds by further relaxing its stringent code of conduct and allowing students to walk on the campus grass, but only in soft slippers and only on Wednesday mornings between 1:30 and 2:00 AM under the supervision of a team of Elders.

Remember, you read it here first.

In an effort to expand their footprint into the eastern and central time zones, the PAC invites the Southwest Tech Fighting Donkeys, the UMKC Kangaroos, the Stony Brook Seawolves and the Campbell Fighting Camels to join the conference. This should give them access to the lucrative markets in the east they've been looking for.

The info I posted earlier is still confirmed to be solid. Look for the PAC to announce a press conference to advise who they will be welcoming to the conference over Thanksgiving weekend.

You're welcome.
