BGSU & Childers Predictions for Saturday
I think the offense gets on track. With that being said, I'm going to go with:
NIU 42
BGSU 10
Childers 21-34 242 yds 2 TDs
16 rushes 82 yds 1 TD and 1 fumble
Curious if Rod pulls him after the fumble as he obviously has a short leash when it comes to turnovers from the QB

Yeah I am pretty sure the musical chairs QB thing isn't over. That was the plan going into the season to rotate through them all

RE: BGSU & Childers Predictions for Saturday
I think that the NIU defense will limit BGSU to 13 points.
Can NIU score more than that with Childers at QB? Much will depend on whether his passing skills are better than what he has shown to date. They might be and I hope we see rapid improvement.

BGSU not so good vs the run but sounds like our RBs Huff & Jones are dinged.

I don't believe you will see anyone but Childers from this point forward. Carey does not like to rotate QB's; this scheme fits his philosophy and comfort zone very well; he is now even preaching "patience" (you heard that right) when it comes to his new QB. With each win, and we will certainly get another one this week, the leash on Childers grows longer. Barring injury or absolute ineffectiveness; Childers will be given the opportunity to grow and develop. You may see Santa (or Thompson) in mop up time.

I think you are correct regarding Carey''s intent. However if we get down by two or more scores and Childers is ineffective in the passing game I would not be surprised to see Santa.

NIU 38
BGSU 13
Childers: 250 yards passing, 3 TDs; 75 yards rushing 1 TD; no fumbles - I am sure they are preaching/working with him on ball security after 3 fumbles. We have had some fumbleitis in recent games and I am sure that is being emphasized this week.
I am thinking a medium leash with turnovers; Carey hates turnovers from the QB, but he is preaching patience and mistakes by a RS FR is something you have to expect.
I am sure I am not the only one that will be watching Childers very carefully on long passes. I hope they are working with him on putting more air under longer passes and letting the receivers run under the ball.

27-17 Huskies. Childers gets on track and Ference makes his 1st field goal. Hagan gets yanked.

If he can't be effective against BGs defense he won't be effective against anyone else on the schedule.

RE: BGSU & Childers Predictions for Saturday
After last week's close game against Buffalo, I wouldn't be surprised if the Huskies drop this one. I'm going to need to see a huge improvement from Childers to have any faith in the Huskies the rest of the way.
NIU- 21
BGSU- 17

Huskies 41
Falcons 13
BG's offense spends much time on the bench watching their defense get steamrolled by Huskie running game. Now and then they come out for a three and out. Then it is back to then sidelines to watch the Huskie O.
Their kicker kicks a couple of long FGs. BG scores a TD off a Huskie ST mistake.

RE: BGSU & Childers Predictions for Saturday
MiamiH is correct--this guy's write up is pro caliber........also, it is fun to read an objective critique of the Huskies...sure is wayyyyy more positive than too many fans' takes on this board...he gets it..competing in football is tough and being 4-2 with two close tough losses says a lot about this year's team. He lauds the program and that is on Coach Carey.
