New D1 Hockey Program at Oakland U?
Just announced that the NHL business development wing is undergoing some feasibility studies with Oakland University to determine if D1Mens and Women’s Hockey is feasible. Apparently they have assisted Illinois with the launch of their Hockey program and OU will be the second University they will be advising. If it gets off the ground I wonder what league they would join.

Wow. Hockey is an incredibly expensive sport to add. It would be great to see more women's hockey at the collegiate level, though.

They haven't launched anything at Illinois. These are simply speculative committees, which is why I'm highly skeptical of these reports. The NHL is very tight on details about these efforts.

The Vp of business affairs for the NHL was interviewed between periods last night during the Red Wings telecast he confirmed the efforts underway are real the school is committed but he did point out they are not ready tolaunch a team or join a league
The efforts are real but no final recommendations have been made.

Your intellectual insecurity manifest itself in an uncontrollable way. Listen dude, your lack of insight can be compensated for. Just start reading a few books. The vastness of knowledge is within your grasp, and before you know it you will be able to have a conversation about something without everyone in the room knowing how shallow and limited you are. Give it a try, and until them, God bless you.

Just to satisfy my curiosity, how long has this 'tiff' between you two warriors been going on? Have either of you seen the movie 'The Duellists'? If not, you should. LOL

The point, which obviously went over brovol's head, is that until I see NHL owner money or significant investment going into starting a program, talk is cheap. Which basically describes your honor.

Perhaps you should look back at your post, little man, and explain how the comment referencing me has anything to do with "your point".

You are an antagonist on a message board. No different that your alter ego, DB. Shallow and insignificant. You get off on provocation like someone twisted who enjoys poking a caged dog, but only with the perceived security that the dog can't attack back. We all run into folks like you in real life. Enjoy what you think is anonymity.
