I did the Whole30 challenge (I dont know if I mentioned this either) at the beginning of February and ended up losing 35 lbs. I started at 197 and I am down to 162, which was my normal weight in the Marines. I have been able to keep it off for at least 3 months now.
Congratulations.
I talked about this briefly before. One of the main problems with weight loss is that society had told us a diet is something you start. But in reality, everyone is already on a diet as a diet is just what you eat.
But yes, you need to have a plan, which is what I changed. And that change has to be a permanent change or it's basically useless. you can't just do something for a few days or weeks.
I totally changed what I ate in April of 2017 and have not changed it since...and I don't plan on ever changing it back.
The key to weight loss is diet and mindset and not as much on exercise. Another societal problem is we've been convinced the key to weight loss is getting to the gym. While yes, that helps and is necessary for some, it's not all that important. I achieved most of my goals by just simply eating right and walking. LOTS of walking.
For me, I started using an APP and tracked everything I ate. Once you find out what you're eating and the nutritional content of it, you can then make the necessary changes to it to arrive at a caloric content that works for you. It's tough...and sometimes boring...but you MUST not allow your mind to waiver and accept things like "cheat days," etc.
Good luck keeping it off. If you keep your mind on it, you WILL accomplish it.
