Sadly, I developed a case of either Achilles tendinitis or ankle bursitis and gained back 4 pounds...but I'll get back there in a couple weeks! 03-lol

when the nervous system is involved, it's literally a pain that can be difficult to maintain....

my recommendation would be some form of water aerobics to burn off caloric intake if that's an option for you....

it's as easy as jumping in, swimming laps/building up slowly, and finishing off by holding onto the ladder and kicking like nobody's business until you can't....

regardless, keep it up.....I have all the -itis's....

sometimes the pain gets to the point where I simply have to transfer pain to my hands by punching inanimate objects....I wouldn't recommend that one 03-wink

kudos and 04-cheers

Thanks...unfortunately, I don't have any access to water in the winter here in Michigan.

But I'm back to almost normal again...physically...lol. Using ice pack treatments several times a day seemed to work really well in mitigating the pain. I was only prohibited from my daily walking regimen a little over a week, so it was not too bad. I was able to do an hour fit camp (half hour stretching and half hour aerobics type stuff) last night with little pain.

Of course the weight I gained back was way more related to the poor diet choices I made rather than my lack of normal exercise. 03-wink

I decided on April 7, 2017 to change my life to a one of health. Giving up soda, added sugar and fast foods, for a diet of fruits and vegetables along with healthy proteins.

I also started walking...and a lot of it. For several months, while the weather was nice, I was averaging close to 20,000 steps a day. Of course my employer helps in this as I can get around $100 every quarter for tracking my steps and a few other daily things.

Anyway, I'm happy to report that for the first time in over 30 years I am now below 200 pounds and am less than 20 away form my ultimate goal to lose 100 pounds total.

Thank you, for posting this.

I, too, have lost some weight. I have lost 50 lbs.

I am eating around 2,000 calories a day. I am not eating sugar and limiting my carbs. I eat vegetables, fruits, and meat.

My cheat meal is fried chicken once every other week or so. If not fried chicken, I may get some onion rings (lots of calories in onion rings).

I walk a few miles a day. I also use the elliptical for 33 minutes a day.

I started in September. Your post gives me a good idea of where I can be in August.

Thank you, again.

Thanks!

And nice work...keep it up. Although my coach hates the idea of a cheat meal or cheat day...lol. However, I still eat pizza about once a week. Of course I eat 2 pieces instead of the 4 or 5 I used to eat. 03-wink

3 pieces of Popeye's fried chicken (leg, thigh, and wing) is about 700 calories.

Because I am eating fewer calories, I get hungry quickly. I have stopped at Target for a couple of chicken strips.

I find my best meals are really simple. 2 eggs with pico de gayo is a great breakfast. Tuna, cod, and halibut are cheap in calories and lots of protein. Having apples available. Popcorn or peanuts also help, when needed.

There are days when I finish dinner and have only eaten 900 calories.

Cool. I like to stay between 1,200 and 1,400 on most days and have been able to not be too hungry. If I get hungry, I make my snacks an apple or some yogurt. The Triple Zero stuff is really good...low in added sugar and low in calories.

I used to eat KFC quite a bit, but ever since they stopped serving their grilled chicken, I stopped that. Shame...their grilled chicken breasts were incredibly good.

I've learned that the key for me is consistency. It gets a little boring, but I eat the same thing pretty much every day. A slimfast clone drink for breakfast, A salad with grilled chicken, beets and eggs with low calorie dressing for lunch, and usually either two ham/turkey sandwiches, or grilled Tilapia with steamed veggies for supper. Then a late night snack of an apple and the yogurt.

Tom you and I don't agree on much of everything but I am very happy for you and humbled by you in this regard. I hope to make 2018 a year where I eat better, sleep better, and workout better.

Welcome to a whole new wardrobe! Congrats.

Yeah...going to get expensive come summer. Thankfully a lady at church gave me three nice pair of Levi's and a couple pair of dockers that her husband no longer fits into.

Congratulations. I'm sure you feel better as well. I know that when I lost weight I felt better all around.

As I'm aging, I keep up the exercise regimen and watch what I eat in the hopes that I will have a good quality of life as the years go by.....

No doubt! Next to no knee pain anymore and I don't get any pains in my chest like I used to get. I've also been able to totally stop my BP medication and greatly cut back on my use of ibuprofen.

Hat off to you Tom. Losing weight and keeping it off is not easy, especially as we get older.

Yeah. Losing it is hard enough, but keeping it off is a total *****.

I honestly asked who’s belt is this? About 6 months ago, cause I didn’t even think it was ever mine.

Feeling better certainly feels better.

Great for you. Betting you also just feel a lot better.

I lost mine several years ago and have done a pretty good job keeping most of it off, but have backslid a bit over this winter. Now have about 10-15 lbs I need to shed.

For me, it really is a function of what I put in my mouth. I have a sweet tooth that I sometimes have difficulty in curbing.......but it has to be not a diet, but a lifestyle change..

Fantastic Tom. 01-ncaabbs01-ncaabbs01-ncaabbs

I also am close to my goal of 200 also. Down to 207..from 248 this time last year. My gym opened up a functional fitness facility in January and Im going to 4 to 5 classes a week. Ive picked up muscle in places Ive never had it. Best part of this is that NO diet has been involved. Just exercise. I never thought Id like group exercise but Im having a blast with all the young people. Ive even surprised myself at 58 by being able to keep up with many of them. I did 556 ab mat sit ups in 30 mins last week. I could not have done a 100 a year ago.

I said last spring I'd lose 30 pounds over the year. I only have 40 to go!!

LOL. I actually have the same belt still. It's one with holes the whole length. I use it as a measuring stick and for inspiration. It now goes half way around my back!
