You're right, either is acceptable, USF or South Florida. Don't know if South Fla., SFLA, or S.Florida are approved though, that is what I was referring to. The official acronym is USF, so if there isn't space to put "South Florida", then put "USF". But really don't care, that's why I said "LOL".
