Does anyone know where he landed? I've searched Google and can't find anything other than him parting ways with NIU. I did the obligatory search of the Iowa State roster and he's not there. Anybody with knowledge, please....

What I heard last year was University of Denver (Ricardo Patton is an assistant coach there), but I don't see him on the roster.

RE: Marshawn Wilson
I don’t believe Marshawn wants to be a student. There was a reason he had to leave NIU.

Marshawn would have a difficult time at Denver. I went there for graduate school and they had and continue to have rigorous academic standards.

I did not realize that Patton had landed there as an assistant coach. I am kind of bummed by that but at least he is not the head coach.

Denver disbanded their football program long ago and it is a strong hockey school. Their homecoming is always centered around a hockey game.

Still can't believe how selfish porter and Wilson were

Wilson took a turn for the worst on the court when Highsmith started over him. Highsmith outworked him leading up to the season and thus he started. The student part of being a student/athlete is what eventually did him in along with immaturity!

What a disappointment in Highsmith also, took up a roster spot when he wanted no part of NIU basketball and was waiting it out for another school. I have never seen such a group of three selfish players as Highsmith, Wilson, and Porter.

I'll bet the situation would have been different with a different coach.

Thank you all for the response. If he lands somewhere, please post. However, with the lean towards not wanting to be a student---the writing is on the wall.

Pretty much a waste of a good opportunity.

Two years ago, I would have been salivating for this basketball season. Now----oh, boy---this could be bad.

Maybe with Highsmith but I don't think there is coach in nation that could fix Porter and Wilson

Huskies picked 5th in Mac west by athlon only in front of CMU

This is an embarrassment. Year after year after year of being mired in mediocrity or worse. When will it end?

Call me crazy but I think basketball will be pretty good this year. Lacey James is now eligible and I don’t think the predictions factored him in. Geno, Key, Bradley should be solid, we just need Thorpe or Hamilton or someone else to step in. I will eat crow if I’m wrong, but let’s not assume they will stink

You're a joke, MD. Stop bagging on kids. Highsmith worked his *** off everyday here. Wilson and Porter made mistakes for sure, but their gone. Move on.

Hope you are right but missing on Porter and Wilson probably sets you back 2 years at minimum.

They have been replaced...therefore I will make judgement after I see some of these new guys play. I’ve heard Lacey James can play and I believe we have some good freshman. If those guys are any good and are team players, perhaps we are better off. Moral of the story is we will find out, but in basketball true freshman can make immediate impacts too

I'm worried about the health of the team. Key will miss time to start the season. Hamilton was wearing a boot at the football game. We have a tough nonconference schedule and need to start strong.

Key won’t be playing for awhile but I saw a short video of the scrimmage Saturday and I’m pretty sure Hamilton was playing. They have a lot of talent but that doesn’t mean they will win. Lacey James had a heart problem otherwise he would’ve been a power conference player.
