A lot has been said here about what did and did not happen. This link provides a pretty good summary of the various investigations.

I believe UNC found a loop-hole. The NCAA can't dictate what constitutes a physics course. Even though UNC and its investigators determined courses were "sham" or "fake," unless UNC itself disqualifies the courses, possibly making athletes ineligible at the time, there is nothing the NCAA can do.

SACS should have done more, IMO.
