GSU has a pretty good defense. If we can't score in the 20's we might lose. I haven't even looked at the spread.
We desperately need to find some leadership on the offensive line.

I think our defense keep Troy under 21. Could be 21-17 kind of a "boring" game where both defenses will win most 3rd down battles.

Yeah, I'm not sure Troy has the OL/Kicking game to beat GSU by 3 scores. Especially if Chunn isn't 100 percent after last week. Panthers have a pretty good defense. I could easily see a very low scoring game here, similar to the USA game.

Don't look now, but Georgia State is 3-2. They have improved every game and look to be doing what Southern expected under Summers, incremental improvements and consistency. Good hire results versus bad hire results.

What a week you have predicted. Half the games are one point squeakers.
I think your picks are about right, but marvel at the spreads.

GSU / TROY will probably be a one point squeaker.

ULM could win by 6 or lose by 24. I wouldn’t touch this at all.

And neither will I. This is a must win game if Coach Joey Jones wants to be the coach next year. The key will be if USA can produce a functional offense. We can't count on ULM turning the ball over 4 times, missing multiple field goals, and turning the ball over on downs multiple times. I think USA is actually getting better as the year progresses (which is a refreshing change) but I think we will know if that's the case after this game. USA wins this game, and the schedule is probably manageable going forward (@Georgia State, ULL, Ark State, @Georgia Southern, @NMSU). Lose it, and USA can start the coaching search in earnest.
This is a must win game for ULM too. They lose this weekend and they're going to need to win three from @Idaho, Arkansas State, @App, and @Auburn. If they can't beat USA, I don't see them bowling.

RE: Week 8 Sunbelt Projections
Tha Ga Stats loss screwed up any real shot at a bowl. Allegedly the team got the big head and thought they would walk in and beat Ga State without trying. Why they thought that? I have now clue. I expect to see more of a fight this week but we still have our DBs that are just horrid.

It looks like he gave the teams he wants to win but doesn't think will win a 1 point win.

Idaho is interesting because Missouri is real bad but they’re still a P5. Might be like the App State game.

I'm going with all of the home teams, except GSU. I think Troy's going to rebound with win on the road.

I just hope App will not play to the level of their opponent again. Just once I would like to see a dominate first half performance so that we don't have to hold our breath until the final play. It would also be good to get more subs in and reduce wear and tear on the starting units. No offense to CCU but App is playing at home on homecoming and should be at their best....which we still haven't seen for much more than half of a game so far.

Bye week at NMSU:
For once, NMSU is favored after years of . . . .
I'm happy with the opportunity to get some of the injured Aggies healthy.

Oh yeah, I guess NMSU was homecoming. That's what happens when you miss a home game. I guess it's "Family Weekend" this weekend. Anyway I just hope App can play from the opening whistle instead of sprinting to the finish like the last two Belt games.
