RE: Did Dorceus even play yesterday?
IMO, Henderson is the best now, but Taylor has the opportunity to be one of our best running backs of all time (and play on Sundays). In terms of who I want to see on the field, it's Taylor > Henderson > Dorceus. While I appreciate everything Dorceus has done for us throughout the last few years, I don't think he should be getting significant PT over the others.

I pretty much agree. We have three our four capable backs, but I'd stick with Henderson and Taylor as the 1/2 guys.

RE: Did Dorceus even play yesterday?
Guess it comes down to personal preference. Glad we have all three. Pretty impressive that all three average over 5 ypc, yet we are not seen as a rushing team. We do seem to quickly forget how good Dorceus is. 800 yards last year, over 6 yards per carry.
In the 4th quarter, nursing a lead, there is no doubt that I want Dorceus the most. He is a punishing, physical back. Hope DD can stay healthy to finish out his Tiger career.
Henderson has to be used in small doses, or he'll get beat up, IMO. Only 60 carries this season. About 10 per game seems right.
Next year, I expect to see Taylor start, and DH be the 3rd down speed back.

Taylor Runs hard but lacks vision...
Henderson is fast and will break big runs...Good Vision but will get more 0 gain runs
Dorceus has good vision and seems to get hard yards when nothing is there...

Make no mistake. Henderson is the #1. Has nothing to do with game plans or injuries or experience.
It does seem that every game we've only relied on 2 of the guys - and it's been different combinations of who those 2 are. The explanation is the 3rd guy is banged up. Fine with me - it's working.

From the CA after the UCONN game
But Dickey also doesn’t mind riding a hot hand, which is how Dorceus ended last week’s win over UConn with 22 rushes for 122 yards and two touchdowns. No other Memphis player had logged more than 16 carries this season, and Dorceus admitted he enjoys being "that bell cow" for the Tigers' rushing attack.
So I am still waiting for any explanation as to why the #1 rusher from last year returned from injury to rush for 122 yards and didn't play against Navy other than personal opinion.

I'm certain that Dorceus wants to play in tomorrow night's game in Houston. It's his hometown.... Spring High School (Houston suburb).

Maybe it's nothing more than a calculation that less wear and tear on Saturday leaves Dorceus fresh for a game only 5 days later.

I did notice Dorceus on the sideline "without" his helmet .... Injury ?? Maybe they were making sure he didn't get back into the game ...
The only time I remember him on the field was the 2nd kickoff when it looked like we put our Onside kick recovery team out there in a regular return formation ... Wanted to make sure we caught the ball, but didn't plan on any type of real return ...

Dude we were up by like 100 against UConn and Taylor didn't play.
In the 4th quarter we took out our starters (Henderson) and Dorland got a good amount of his carries then...I would bet Henderson and Dorland had around the same amount of carries up to the 3rd Quarter.

Exactly. UConn was the 1-2 punch of Hendo and DD. Taylor did not play. Hendo started. At the end of Q3, they each had 12 carries. Hendo did not play in Q4 and DD had 10 carries. Regardless of how the CA framed it.
Henderson is the #1. He has started every game. Taylor has been #2 in all games except UConn when he did not play. In the two games where all 3 have played, Dorceus was third off the bench.
There is a clear depth chart. We can disagree on it - I happen to agree with it. But I love all 3 of our guys and am happy we have 3 solid RB's to debate for a change.
BTW, Cooper would clearly be #4 as a specialty back. He knew this. I understand he's also #4 at Central Arkansas. Seems the angst over his transfer may have been premature.

Man... That's not good. That sounds like off-the-field drama.

He's only played 3 games this year. Stories for earlier misses were he wasn't healthy.

He looked 100% for UConn. Not sure if he is in Houston or not. There is something going on because he was fine after the UConn game. Maybe disciplinary which would be a shame. Because of the desire to keep injuries quiet it could be that simple and he is staying home to receive treatment in the training room.

I understand Dorceus DID make the trip but didn't dress - groin injury.

Didn't read the link, but saw DD's tweets. He said he was back in Memphis watching the game. Proud of Tigers. Injured. Will be back this week.
