Pregame Basketball Practice
I went to the basketball practice in the Don prior to the big TU v Houston win next door at Chapman Stadium.
My first impressions were that we look more athletic in general and I think some of the newcomers "CAN" help us down the road. These scrimmages are informative, yet still can give a false impression of what we will see later when the season starts up.
But again, we look pretty decent and there can be a light shining in the distance. I already like the Curran Scott transfer. He hit the 3 ball and had a couple of nice drives for baskets.
I'd like them to do this every saturday. i think it promotes interest in MBB and the home football games. No reason not to do it.
Haith sat it out and let the assistants do the coaching and I like that. It allows him to sit back in a seat and just observe the team without being immediately involved.

RE: Pregame Basketball Practice
Anything that improves the horrific guard play from last year is a plus. I felt from the beginning that adding Scott would a good thing. The guy can at least shoot which has been one Tulsa's biggest weaknesses at the guard position the last several years. Or at least not enough players who can shoot from the guard position. Understand his defense needs to improve. But that can be learned. Tulsa will be small overall as team. They will have trouble with some of the taller teams in the conference.

Better hope that Tulsa is decent in basketball because the football team sucks right now.
