But this season looks ugly so far and he'd better find a QB and some decent WRs for next year.
OK...I can support this but next year is for sure a hot seat year. BTW...Marshall had many P5 level transfers. Why has BW landed any of them.
Most P5 transfers who are looking to move are having off the field/academic issues. These are not the types of guys BW and staff look to recruit.

This will be the 5th year for Jones. It is his team. If it doesn't go well he deserves a hot seat.

I forgive him for his FBS shortcomings. He never thought the realignment train would stop at ODU.
With that said, look for Wilder to release Nagy and Scott in the offseason and replace them with better FBS coaches.
Go Monarchs!
Could he release himself to get a better FBS coach?

If Bobby were to fire his OC after years of putting up 30+ points per game due to a down season with a 17 year old QB.....who would want to work for him?

Who is responsible for us having only a 17 year old QB capable of playing?

What gets me is that Wilder does not seem angry at the massive losses. "It's a learning experience blah blah blah". I want the coach to be angrier about these blow out losses then I am.

This one cones up a lot. The reality is this is just the current state of college football. Good QBs who aren't starting don't stick around. Look at Clemson and FSU. They are both in the same boat after losing their starting qb.

We don't have a starting quality QB, much less a backup. Once again whose fault is that? An injury did not cause this situation.

Bobby put all of his eggs in the Shuler Bentley basket. We are lucky we even have Williams.

Okay then I'll use a different example to appease you. Last year FSU was forced to start a Freshman QB due to graduation and had a very sub par season as a result. The days of plug and play 3rd year sophomores or 4th year juniors are over.

Appease me?! Please don't make me laugh. Four quarterbacks on the roster and not one of them even moderately capable of getting the job done. Or even looking better than mediocre. Someone is responsible and I have a pretty good idea of who that person is.

So true - at least JJ and crew nailed a couple great recruits to silence the lambs for awhile . My optimism has a hard time reading negativity but I guess I'm a sucker because I troll these boards often .

There is obviously some fault for not having a QB this year. Having a highly ranked QB not work out has brutal consequences. Way too early to consider firing Scott tho.

We have more of a history of having solid QB's. What we have now isn't working, maybe he's the guy, but things aren't flowing on offense.

Let me start off by saying the the talk of firing BW is, IMO, premature.
Whomever the QB is, he will not have enough time.
That Williams is left handed is problematic in that the pass rush weakness in our OL is usually on the left side, and Williams is left handed. This forces him to go right. Not the best roll scenario for a lefty.
I am VERY curious as to the status of Drayton Arnold. He looked at least as good as BL and Hoy in the spring, except with a stronger arm.
Has he just not gotten our offense?
It seems odd that he has seen no playing time at all. I cannot believe you throw an entire season getting a 17 year old reps for next year.

RE: Fire Bobby Wilder Thread
Bobby's earned some 'get the ship back on course' time. I'm not too worried about QB, and I think Williams will be good in the long run, but I'm petrified about OL and WR. WRs are garbage, and the OL is even worse!!!
We can't have a good team without a halfway decent OL, and a QB needs people to catch the ball.
If we can beat WKU, I'll have more confidence we can make a bowl. Thus far... I'm very doubtful.

I agree 100%, where is Drayton Arnold? The final score was 35-3, I can't believe Arnold could be worse. I for one would like to see what he could do.
