That's not true...as improvement can be scene in Year 1...and even just 4 games into Year 2 like Frost is doing at UCF.
Those two situations aren't really comparable at all. As bad as 2015 was for UCF, that wasn't a result of the kind of roster deficiency you are seeing at UC. This roster is so bad at multiple positions, it's alarming. Tubs killed this team so bad, it's criminal.
I think you'll see some improvement next year (6-8 wins) as the roster continues turning over and the team adjusts to a new attitude, but it's realistically 2019 before UC is competing for a conference title, which I have a lot of faith they will do.
Truth is, this is a lot more like a Tulane or Memphis type rebuild, and that's pretty sobering for most UC fans. Still, CLF was the right guy for the job. He has the hunger and recruiting prowess to get it done as quick as is possible.
Somewhat disagree in UCF's case...as 2015 was the year that had the biggest impact from the loss of 19 scholarships from previous sanctions really hit home hard...and that is soooo hard to make up, hence why so many true Freshmen had to play in 2015, 2016 and still in 2017.

We have had 14 OLmen leave the program in the past 3 years. Right now, we have 5 scholarship linemen, 3 of whom graduate this year. The remaining players are walkons or converted hockey players (and I'm not kidding).
When you only have 2 scholarship quality Offensive Linemen, you cannot do anything on offense. When you cannot do anything on offense, your defense has to do a lot more. When you recruit players who couldn't locate a football if it had those vortex whistles and a neon light display on it...well, you're going to have a bad day.
Our talent level is nowhere near where yours was in 2015-16. I mean, hell, you have two NFL starters who played on that 15 team. We have two CFL backups on our roster at the moment.

USF signature win, Illinois, losing big at home to 1-4 Rutgers...

Illinois hasn't been a signature win for anyone in 30 years

The last time the Illini were relevant, Jeff George was the QB.
Jeff George turns 50 in December.

Too bad UCF didn't have Michigan on their schedule this year instead of last. They are very suspect. Almost losing to Indiana today. Not saying it would be a blowout win, but I do feel UCF would have won handedly wearing down their defense.

Nah, they were in the Rose Bowl in 05 or 06.
