RE: Football aims to blast Rockets, end seven-game losing streak in series
this will be a tough game. Not feeling good about our passing game without Thompson in there. He and Woodside were always on the same page. I've seen too many situations where Johnson (Diontae) cuts off a pattern too quickly and the ball is thrown nowhere near where Woodside was anticipating. We will need to keep using Fisher and hopefully Swanson is ready to go - and we are back at full strength on the OL - save for 1 guy who is out for the season. Confusing as to whether others are out or not.

We do have depth on defense, but it seems the strength of CMU is their defense. Not sure how good the new QB at CMU is - or can be. I see he is a transfer from Michigan, and they sure don't seem to have a quality QB there - despite all the transfers in and out. Does indicate he had a pretty good high school career at Warren de LaSalle. Their win at Ohio last week seems to be the highlight of their season to date. We did not play all that well on offense vs. EMU after Thompson went down. We will have to be able to run the ball effectively and keep their DE from getting pressure when we do pass. DB's supposed to be good as well.

Diontae Johnson is currently 12th in the nation in receiving TDs, 27th in receiving yards per game and 41st in receptions per game. He's also 10th in the nation in all purpose yards.

I think the top 3 receivers of D Johnson, J Johnson and D McKinley-Lewis will be fine. Also, I thought Fisher had a breakout game receiving at TE against EMU. Do need one or 2 other players to step in to spell the top players. Next in line was Phillips, but unsure if he is out hurt or not. So, next man up behind them.
