not exactly....including the 90 world cup, the usa has failed to get out of the group 3 of 7 times...they made the round of 16 3 times as well, with 1 quarterfinal appearance

That is about like WKU basketball program history in NCAA tournament, anytime we brag on our history we are told it doesn't matter and its not relevant now, so it doesn't matter for USA soccer either, lol.....

Well, we know one of the reasons MLS won't be coming to Kentucky anytime ever...

$200 million for 2018 and another $200 million in 2022

http://www.businessinsider.com/fox-world...on-2017-10

To win a bidding war with ESPN, Fox agreed to pay $400 million for the English-broadcast rights to the World Cup in 2018 and 2022. With the Americans eliminated from 2018 contention, those broadcasts are most likely significantly less valuable than previously imagined.

Still not a great track record anyway you slice it, guarantee this team would have been blown out all 3 games next summer...Maybe the men should see how the women are so good...

To use an NCAA analogy I rather make the tournament and get blown out than to watch march madness from the couch.

USSF has shown a lot of the same player development and results failures as Bailliff - maybe he should take over for Gulati?

He thinks he's being cute, but it's pretty annoying... There's always the ignore list.

No, I do not think Mexico had the foresight to do that. I mean USA was playing an outsider, T&T, who had only once in the final group competition prior to their match. USA just needed to beat a bad team. We only have ourselves to blame.

Didn't even need to beat them. A tie would have also seen us qualify for the World Cup.

RE: OT - USA doesn't make World Cup
Honestly this may be what is best for US Soccer in the long run. It forces the USSF to reevaluate what they are doing from top to bottom. Gulati needs to go, Arena never should have been called back in, he repeated the exact same mistakes that got him fired in the first place. Youth Soccer needs to be completely reworked to go away from this pay to play system currently in place. A lot of talented kids are being lost in the shuffle or overlooked because their parents can't afford to pay for them.

Several players in the starting XI need to retire from international play and let the young guns begin to blossom. We have a lot of talented players under 20 who are signing contracts with top European clubs and the same old crappy MLS players keep getting called in.

I feel the most sorry for Pulisic. Kid busted his butt throughout the entire Hex and he deserved to be able to showcase his skills next summer on the biggest stage and get a big contract afterwards.

I agree with all that; however, if Pulisic keeps doing what he's doing he'll get the big contract regardless.

Perhaps, but it does put him behind the 8 ball a little bit.

That's right, we had superior tie-breakers.

Lalas went on this rant a month ago when the team lost to Costa Rica... made some people upset.

He never liked Klinsmann either. I wonder if he's secretly plotting to get himself appointed as coach. lol He seems to have a lot to say about the coaching position for someone who, I don't believe, has ever coached before.
