Robert E. Lee High School in San Antonio is changing its name. School district trustees voted Monday to change the school's name to the Legacy of Educational Excellence High School (or LEE for short).

I think it would have been easier for them to rename the school Bruce Lee High School, Geddy Lee High School, or Stan Lee High School instead; but what do I know. They also could have renamed it Sheila Jackson Lee High School, but that would have made more sense for the Lee High School in Houston (which is now known as Margaret Long Wisdom High School by the way).

Pretty stupid. Really change the name or don't.

Long history, Going to be lots of grads who aren't happy.

I went to Jeff Davis high school. Our rival was Robert E Lee. They are talking about changing their names. Makes no difference to me. Of course I like the dukes of Hazzard and the general Lee. I've got issues.

You just love Daisy Dukes.

This will immediately increase test scores 20%! I know it will!

Man... who doesn't! That was a totally bad ass car when I was growing up. I wanted a Charger so bad. Plus Boss Hog was corrupt, Cletus was a moron. And the Duke boys were true rebels with regards to "the system". And Daisy.... What more could you want?

Quote:Professional golfer Bubba Watson says he plans to paint over the Confederate flag displayed on the roof of his 1969 Dodge Charger from The Dukes of Hazzard.

Watson tweeted that he made the decision because he believes “all men ARE created equal.”

A fully restored General Lee (w/ flag on top of course) would be among the first 10-15 things I bought if I won the lottery. Right there with it would be a black '77 Trans Am
