I really don't like this kinda talk and assumption that we are just going to crush ECU. Its just one of those traps, and I hope the players aren't taking that mentality...

I would typically agree, but you clearly haven't seen this Pirate team play.

While I tend to agree with you, I think this ECU team is looking for reasons to lose this year (UCF was there 2 years ago), it's still a roster of some of the best HS players. They're capable of catching passes on offense/defense. When a young team (which UCF is) starts getting press, you never know what you're going to get. The defense started believing their press clippings and really slipped against Cincy. Offense could do it this week. A couple pick-6s and it's anyone's game.

Let me try to allay your fears with a quick rundown of how this game will go.

1st Quarter - score will probably be 10-3 Pirates. Knight fans will wonder what in the purple hell is going on because ECU is supposed to suck.

2nd Quarter - will still look like a game on the scoreboard, probably something like 24-13 Knights. Knight fans will feel better at halftime, but still be a little nervous because the game is close-ish on the scoreboard.

3rd Quarter - ECU will make adjustments on both sides of the ball. On offense, we will resort to only throwing the ball 30+ yards down the field to well-covered receivers and runs up the middle for a yard. On defense, our secondary will play 15 yards off the line. UCF's offense will roll, ECU's offense will stop. 49-20 at the end of the quarter.

4th Quarter - every Pirate on the field will have quit. UCF scores with 4th string walk-ons. 70-20 final score.

Trust me. This is our script.

Wow....that is our script. If we score in the 2nd half, it will be on our very first possession...then nothing.

FWIW, I think those uniforms are awesome. The cratered look inside the letters of the UCF logo is as cool as anything I've seen anybody do from a uniform perspective since Oregon first started this stuff. Congrats!

Unless they go with the WVU game plan of letting them score every single possession of the first half. That is an option in the Mo playbook.

Dang man, spoiler alert. That's a potential surprise twist we only break out for the good crowds.

It true, we break out that package only for games with over 40k crowds (announced)....

ECU will likely be wearing our classic "37 point dogs" uniforms.

"We got steam rolled by a very good team and they took advantage of everything. When things go bad, they go bad. I thought our defense really fought hard, especially in the first half. They fought until the end and it's hard to that with what has happened the past two weeks. I appreciate our guys."

"It was a sad day for us. We didn't get the job done. I didn't get the job done today or in two years. We didn't make enough plays today or in two years."

- Head Coach Scottie Mont.... er, I mean John Thompson.
