Would be really cool if they did a throw back uniform from that era as well.

I know this is being petty, and I love the helmet logo, but I hate how the colors don't match up helmet/uniform.

Love the decal, but it needs the matching double gold stripes down the middle.

We really just need to go back to the '97 jerseys and wear those all the time. Best damn jersey's we've ever worn imo.

I just wish they weren't stuck on black/black or gold/gold for home games. Why can't we wear black top/gold bottom with this current uniform like many past uniforms were combined?

Here, in all their glory, are those uniforms. This was 1980 vs Ole Miss in Jackson. I was there. Sammy’s leap happened that afternoon.

Our last stand, where we sacked Fourcade's azzz all the way back to the Grove and left him agonizing in pain, was PRICELESS...

I guess the crowd would now be estimated at 22,000?04-cheers

The road version of those uniforms. 1981 vs Florida State as described by former announcer Bill Goodrich. ABC televised but much of game was interrupted by landing of the space shuttle. “Here comes Sammy!” The FSU QB was current MTSU coach Rick Stockstill. We moved to #8 in the UPI poll and #9 in the AP poll after this.

FL State called Reggie "Grand-daddy Long Legs" after that long run where NO ONE WAS GONNA CATCH 'EM.

Reggie/Reggie--only USM and Tulane offered
Sammy/Sammy--transfer from Mississippi Valley
Marvin Harvey--USM and N. Alabama
Ricky Floyd--"too small to play Div 1 football" HA!
Steve Carmody--6' 3' 200 lb. center would knock your azzzzz off!

Yes, we took Prop 48's (or the equivalent) back then...but we were also on ABC TV (dam you space shuttle 03-lmfao), never happening again...and every school in the nation (plus their brother) was not recruiting N'Awlins, Alabama and NW Florida back then.

Can only take solace that I also was at BOTH GAMES....and every place we stopped for gas, or ate, or bought adult beverages after the game, KNEW WHO SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI WAS (the term "Southern Miss" was not as prevalent then)! 04-cheers

Don't our gold pants this year have a black stripe on them like these? Wonder why they don't wear them this week to match helmet theme..

I too, am a big believer in the black top gold pants for home..... It's our colors.

Florida's uniform this week is one of the ugliest I think I've ever seen. Who in the world approved that and let it roll to production..
