Does FB players have the same pre and post conditioning workout as soccer players?
Sorry if this is a dumb question. I was more of a soccer player in high school(don't ask me about my history cause I won't reveal it), And I don't know how workout in FB works.
During soccer practice, you always had to do some pre and post-conditioning workout for nearly 30 minutes, so you don't get injured by some muscles strain, crams, hamstring etc. Touching toes to running 800 meters with a different exercise after every 50/100 meters, sprint, slow run etc. I was wondering how does this work in college level on FB especially at ODU?
I just read the story on Lawry on VA Pilot and how he and his family are making a decision if he will play or not this season. Some players get injured by contact while most get injured from self-body issues. Is there a way to avoid the majority of such issues?
This got me into the thinking, should we hire some ODU soccer technicians (since ODU soccer is pretty good; with recommendations from ODU soccer coach ) to work along with ODU FB for pre and post workout?
PS: I'm not talking about the big OL and DL guys

The challenge with football practices is the limitation on time. Football is the ultimate team sport where you have to rely on other teammates, as well as yourself, for team success. For example, if the O-line can't block, the offense will not be successful.
That being said, a lot of time during game weeks is spent on fine tuning the offensive and defensive team schemes. And much of that is based on preparing against the upcoming opponent (running against the scout teams).
I think conditioning, for the most part, is left up to the individual player outside of this "team time", with the motivation being maintaining, or gaining, playing time.
I don't see a lot of "in-season" team-oriented scheming in soccer. I think most of soccer practice time is spent on individual skill drills (getting as many touches in as possible), and conditioning.

I can't answer this fully as I haven't been part of the team these past two years but we always started and ended with stretches (kinetic and static) with short runs. We have a fantastic sports med group that takes great care of us, and we do all the pre-hab possible to keep us from getting hurt, unfortunately injuries happen. Look at the Giants WR's, or other teams like UNC.
