35-3

Our O is still figuring things out, but our D is powerful.

We absolutely demolished Cincinnati at Nippert stadium. That was a hostile environment. Completely squashed them.

We played NC State tough. That score didn't reflect how close it actually was.

We're leading NC State at the half, a ranked NC State.

And we should have beat a 5-2 USC team that beat NC State to start the year - close losses don't mean too much

I still the conference is wide open and it does look like Marshall is the best team in the east so far

Which good team have you guys beat?

Well, I guest the first Good team we'll play will be WKU in November, our next opponent is a cupcake. 05-stirthepot

Steven Williams looks good for a 17 year old Freshman.

I don't agree with that at all. I know the ESPN3 announcers are pumping Williams up a lot, but he's very unimpressive so far. He's 14 of 27 for 116 yds w/3+ min left and Marshall playing their 3rd stringers on defense. Williams really shouldn't be playing. He's in over his head right now. It's not his fault. His coach should be roasted for playing him.

Congrats to Marshall. With the rotation of Davis and King, Marshall has a really good ground game. They also have a very solid defense. Good win.

It is a shitshow but our running game looked ok in the first half. You've got to complete a pass every now and then though. Defense is just inconsistent. They'll get a few good stops then let them convert a 3rd and long and then let them break a big play for a TD. Footballs a stupid game.

Don't get carried away. I'm not sure about that AT ALL. This is a game of the "tallest midget" will win. ODU is worse than awful. The game is in the 4th quarter (11 min left), and ODU has 160 yds of offense. The Monarchs have no firepower, and no offense to challenge anybody.

On the other hand, I don't like Marshall's QB (Chase Litton) or your receivers (lots of drops). King & Davis are a very good RB tandem. But this is just a butt ugly game.

The sad thing is we had about 150 at the half.

I will say this. It looked like he had composure and the ability to escape the pocket.

Accuracy was ok. He needs to learn how to apply touch to his passes when he is on the run. A few he zipped right to his man unnecessarily, where just a little touch is all he needed.

The ODU receivers dropped a few passes today. I've seen seniors with less composure.

We may be the worst 5-1 team in the country, but that's better than being the best 1-5 team.

RE: *** Game Thread: Old Dominion @ Marshall ***
Well that was a fun half of play. Marshall football is strange right now. We have very inconsistent offense, but out team plays off of the D. Marshall will be THE best defense anyone plays after this point. They are that good. Me and a buddy were literally talking about how the problem with Marshall's defense is that we have to take out great players because there are literally too many playmakers on that side of the ball.

Now with the offense, they are very inconsistent which is a shame because we have so much talent. If they can get it together, this team should be the favorite throughout the rest of their schedule. That being said, I do not agree with others that the majority of MU fans are disappointed in this team. We are 5-1... 5-1!!! I'm excited. We aren't perfect, actually far from it, but we are not a disappointment. Again, 5-1.

Good game ODU. I will always root for ODU unless they play Marshall. Keep fighting and make the best of this season. 04-cheers

I'm not totally down on Williams. He's got some sort of touch or timing issue now and tends to over throw. But when he does throw a beauty the receivers drop it. It's lose lose. Throw in a **** offensive line and our d can't stay off the field.

Toss in something I perceive as toxic in the ranks. Body language looks like a team given up to me.

Not a knock but this team looks like the Marshall team I saw us play last year.

Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent.

He reminds me of Jimmy Skinner. I think you and I can both agree we would have never wanted Skinner behind center full time.

Was this game ugly for the most part, yep. Was it a win, Uh HuH. Are we 5-1 and only a game from bowl eligibility, we are. Will 99.98% of this fan base ***** more and more, no F'N doubt. I'm just glad my life isn't that so wrapped up into something that I have no control over.
