Are the tailgates on the Grid open for us to wander about? Like I said, never done this before and don't know how to go about it.

For newbies with no connections to meet up with, I would think this would be a option to consider.

Republic of Cincinnati

No personal experience but they seem to have a good reputation while being very open to 1st timers or any UC fan "all are welcome, community style". Hopefully more knowledgeable others will chime in but I didn't want to see you hanging...

I know several of the guys who head this group up and can say that they will welcome anyone who isn't a jerk. They throw a great party.

RE: Football Tailgating Options
I tailgated with the Rep of C guys at the Belk Bowl. Great guys and great bearcats fans. Also at the Grid there are food and beer options available for purchase (next to where the tailgaters are) if you want to go that route. Catch the Catwalk and watch the band play.

Share some feedback? what did you end up doing and what was it like? recommendations for just sort of winging it?

I second that ... our tailgate was fantastic Saturday! Thought Grid was well attended and festive. The young lad loved the two story Bearcat.

I missed Travis. Did stop briefly to converse with Terry Nelson (he doesn't know me from Adam, but still fun).
