Normally, teams' alternates aren't noteworthy enough to start a thread about. Most teams wear alternates all the time. However, Georgia Southern has such a dedicated look and very rarely changes things up. Lately, we've been doing a single alternate for homecoming each year that usually is attached to a tradition or throwback. This year's alternate are a throwback to a famous picture of Coach Erk Russell in his Script Eagle tshirt.

Pretty sweet only thing better would be GATA on there.

I mean I dislike pretty much everything about Georgia Southern University but.......those unis are pretty sweet.

See I like the script writing on the helmets I love it when we had it on the helmets during the Texas A&M game I like it on the GS helmets as well.

I'm becoming less and less a fan of alternate uniforms because they are just being overdone, imo. I don't think we've worn our traditional all black all year!

But, I have to say, I think you guys down there in Gnatsville hit a home run with this one. Pretty awesome from the helmet on down.

Pretty sweet look for the Eagles. Erk was pretty special and a nice honor to him.

Looked like you wore your taxi cab combo this weekend.

I like the grey GS uniforms. They had some a couple of years ago that looked neat too.

That was my idea too but I wanted to say it so they could sneak up on them.

Unfortunately USA Football didn't form during a time where we would have a classic/traditional uniform like GS does (or a lot of classic schools). So we wear a different combination each week, which might be appealing to recruits but sometimes as a fan I wish it was more consistent to help build brand.

But I must say these are friggin awesome! I love them!

Probably my favorite so far or top two.

Sorry-yes we did. However we wore those ugly-assed helmets with a logo you couldn't see from more than five feet away. Not our full traditional uniform.

Y'all should go with this moving forward. Time to ditch the Bama Jr. look.

You're telling this to the fanbase that staged an actual protest because the athletic department changed the look of the mascot costume. We don't do change here.
