Marshall averaged 4.69 yards per play. (due in part to running the ball a lot 44 times at a 3.0 ypc). Cincy averaged 4.7 yards per play.
Obviously, Marshall dominated the game on the score sheet, but the score can be misleading. What is more predictable is play by play data.
Garbage data is what it is. Here is all you need to know. Cincinnati got most of their yards and stats after it was 31-7, at 1:06 of the 3rd qtr. The game was over and starters started being pulled on defense. By the time Cincinnati scored their last TD at 3:03 Marshall had pulled every defensive starter.

Nope. He should be our most productive WR, but he isnt
He has the most catches, the most yards (by over 100 yards) and almost the most yards per reception. There is no argument on who has been the most productive.
Though, Vaughn looked really good, but needs to keep it going.
Fulgham 14 catches for 236 yards (averages 47.2 yards per game). However, he has ONE catch for 71 yards. So when you take away that outlier he has 13 catches for 165 yards. Which means he averages 12.36 YPC.
Not so impressive when you take into consideration that almost 25% of his yards came on one play.
He has dropped WAY too many balls to be called our best WR.

That's not good when you're able to debate that our leading wr in stats isn't our best receiver.
Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent.

Technically Giles is correct because he called him most productive, not best. The drops are problematic, but infortunately that has been contagious. I really like what I was from Harper in the first few games and from Vaughn last game. I could see both of them stepping up. But really, no clear favorite at this point.

So take away the biggest play the team has had all year and hes still the most productive WR on the team?

Man up, be aggressive, and make that mindset a hallmark of your program.

Marshall obviously was the better team, but Im not sure how much of the score was an accurate reflection of the 2 teams.
I'm not disagreeing their turnovers impacted how the game looked both on the score board and on the stat sheet. I'm just saying it goes both ways has pulling starters and giving up two garbage time scoring drives impacts the stat sheet and score board as well.
Dude, this is a never ending battle. Giles will not give up. He is all in on the stats and context means nothing to him.

No, it actually puts him on the same level as two other WR (one being Duhart).
Game by game stats (catches/yards)
FAU 3/40
VT 1/13
UNC 6/102
UMASS 4/81
Albany 0/0
Umass and UNC are the only games he has been our most “productive” WR. And the only reason his stats look good for UNC is because of the 71 yard catch.
You like stats, go figure out how many drops he’s had per game.

Though he is not listed as a starter this week, I suspect Fulgham will see plenty of playing time and will be super motivated. I expect a good game from Mr. Fulgham.

I have no confidence in this game but I'd like to be wrong. The way we played last week at home was just unacceptable and I think Marshall is a better team than fau

Hopefully this game well be coached better than last week's game.
Hopefully we see receviers catch passes and the Offensive line making holes for the running backs.
One thing I noticed was Marshall's defense line is really small. We should be able to run more this week..

I took a look and I agree with you they are not strapping. One guy in the middle is tall like 6'7" but no weight. It is time to push some slim guys around. I guess that might be the thought with a 300lb. tight end.
