RE: Wanted
Where’s the September podcast? The question link for the October one? Truth is Kaarlgard is a frontrunning pu**y who delays the inevitable and is irresponsible with our resources.

TCU football didn’t get where it is today by focusing on “international experiences” for their team that turn into glorified pub crawls.

At the FIU game, Leebron was sitting on the 40 yard line two rows behind me explaining the rules and plays to his daughter.

Joe Kalgaard and David Bailiff.....

Add the university and athletics dept leadership of the late '60's through at least mid-'90's

On the other hand, we could have been the TCU/Baylor/SMU of today, with similar dubious moments in our athletics legacy.

Of course, people like Giles Tippet might argue that we have those anyway.

Not sure of all the vitriole towards JK. I wrote Leebron about firing DB just before the team started their run of beating up on the dregs of cllege football( w admittingly 2-3 quality wins). He inherited a coach that apparently was on the right track, and had , he thought ( my supposition), bigger problems to attend to. He also has the past 50-60 years of stagnation on the part of the BOT and admin. I can forgive him , esp if the talk of 250 players, and the BOT still behind DB. Sounds as if he had no choice.
Even when they were winning, I found the DB style of play almost unwatchable a great deal of the time. Hatfield's teams were WAY better to watch, w a usually well tuned offense , that quite often broke for good gains

Then bring back Hat out of retirement as an interim and have him lead the search for a new permanent HC! Couldn't be any worse than any of the other suggestions on this board.

My view as well. Like Greenspan he is invisible to the majority of Rice fans. CDC could be seen walking the stadium or in the Trauber Suite actually talking with fans. Again like Greenspan the only times a group of Owl fans/supporters get to engage with JK is the annual state of athletics address and then it is only a subset of fans/donors.

Actually, Greenspan was more visible than JK is now, and Greenspan sometimes wandered around and talked to alumni at games.

Yeah, it amazed me that JK couldn't come out of hiding to honor Sign and Cobb during the game.

I didn't intend to that to be negative. JK had a wedding to attend so he wasn't intentionally avoiding either Trevor or Matt and I think he knows Matt fairly well so he wouldn't have intentionally failed to honor him.

He's given similar reasons for missing other athletic events recently. Best-case explanation is that life is getting in the way of doing his job, which is unfortunate, but - he needs to be more present. It's a PR position.
