Why don't we just play lazy on D, save our legs until we let them in the red zone, and then force a field goal every trip they make? If we were to do that, I would almost guarantee a win.
One big key for us is to string long, time consuming drives, by our offense, together. The quick score results in Navy wearing out our defense. But if we can maintain the ball and score TD's, the 'D' can get valuable rest time, and the Navy 'O' will be sitting on the sideline. The fewer minutes they have possession, the better off we will be. Just my opinion. GTG!

I think we need to blitz hard and often, but we also need to be super unpredictable on Defense. Change formations, show fake blitz, etc.
The last 2 years have basically played out like this:
1. Navy's Quarterback runs the ball, and on occasion, pitches to a running back. This gives them 3-4 yards per carry, benefiting largely from forward progression on generous ball spotting.
2. Tiger's defense adjusts to this by putting more men on the line and blitzing Navy's QB.
3. Navy recognizes that we have adjusted and makes a pass to an open man downfield for a touchdown.
4. Cycle continues.
Rather than us reacting to them, we need to put them in a position where they are reacting to us. Come out blitzing hard, but then be unpredictable on what we will do.

Just awful.
I was at the game in Annapolis last year. The spots were horrendous.
this horrendous??
That is such a BS call! I hate OM, and am glad Bama rolled them, but refs should be fired over that one. Just think what it was like before every game was televised. But, yes, the calls in Annapolis last year were that horrendous.
I have not seen this posted here or on another thread -- the Annapolis daily's preview from Monday. I like the "fabled" adjective for the Liberty Bowl. Certainly did not know Navy has THREE starters from the Mid-South?
"This Saturday afternoon’s game at the fabled Liberty Bowl will be a homecoming for several Navy players from the greater Memphis area, including three defensive starters in linebackers D.J. Palmore (Christian Brothers) and Jerry Thompson (White Station High) along with safety Sean Williams (Cordova High, Memphis)."

Good lord, MEMPHIS HAS ONLY PLAYED THEM TWICE.
Memphis has lost to UCF 10 times in a row. That is a losing streak.
