Man, these last two weeks have been something special. Anything can happen, but we should be in good shape for a bowl game this year. Unbelievable.

We need to come out and prove we can win a road game next week at Charlotte though.

I'm calling it right now. UAB is winning 8 games. Charlotte, UTEP, USM and Rice - All Dubs

One at a time. Agree that we need to focus on Charlotte and get the road monkey off our back.

UAB FB is a great story, one of the best stories in college football this year. Most fans did not expect UAB to be all that competitive, let alone go to a bowl this year. Very likely they will and that's an amazing feat. Conference championship is still a possibility also. UAB needs to lock in their coach for long term.

Not so sure about the fans expectation part. Most I talked to prior to season were expecting/hoping 6-6 & Bowl. Even our dufus of a president verbally said prior to the season he expected the team to be in a Bowl game. Most of the fans were called crazy and unrealistic, especially by other fans on this board. I do agree though, the level of success has surprised most. Most thought we could squeeze 6-6, very few thought anything more was possible. It’s still early, but you can’t find a fan base happier to be at 4-2 than UAB’s.

I guess I wasn't clear but I meant fans in general, especially on this board, had much lower expectations for UAB's 1st year back. Good luck going forward.

Thanks, Miner! Supposedly, an extension is being negotiated this week, Coach Clark means so much to UAB, now more than ever, and I don't want him to get "poached" from us by those P5 parasites out there. I am truly sorry about the season UTEP has had this year. You have any specifics on Kugler's sudden departure from the program?

Kugler's departure was expected at the end of the season but not right after the 5th loss. The retiring AD was his mentor and friend and I think he wanted to clear the decks for the next AD, soon to be hired.

I have a work colleague who also is a C-USA referee. He told me before our game last week in Birmingham that "your team better strap on their helmets because UAB is playing really solid football". He was right.

I am so glad UAB is making a huge splash and turning heads in CUSA. They're showing what can be done with just a little bit of support.

Note: I am also glad we don't play them this year. 04-cheers

I guess no one is overlooking us anymore. Now its time to see what UAB can do when we're taking everyone's best shot.
