RE: Attendance
The seats looked empty on the East side when I got home and watched some of the DVR'd game. What doesn't show up is all the fans that stand and watch the game from the concourse area behind the lower bowl section along the East and South sides of the stadium. Being at the game, I would have guessed it to be close to capacity of 26K, so nearly 23K seemed about right.

Still saw a lot of people leaving in the 4th Qtr. of a very tight game. Just to "beat the traffic" and save maybe 20-30 minutes from traffic congestion? Seems to me like you wasted the 3 1/2 hours before that to save 30 minutes at the end.

Sometimes people don't leave "just to beat the traffic". The game was a long TV game and people have other responsibilities.

Sometimes I suppose....sounds like a blanket excuse because it happens at every single game.

or

they had to get home to watch the OSU game at 4pm...

I agree that many would leave to see osu, which is annoying.

RE: Attendance
These noon games deter some of our fair weather fans, especially the ones that like to tailgate and party. We were going to go with some family that fall into both of these categories, but they chose not to go when they found out the game would be at noon. We got there around 10am and we noticed there was FAR LESS people there tailgating than for the Tulsa game. When we got into the stadium, it was super empty with 20 minutes left to game time (much more empty than for Tulsa). I think many fans waited to the last minute to arrive since either they didn't get out of the house early enough or many tailgaters chose to come late so they could extend their drinking time. Each game brings it's challenges for some reason or another!

RE: Attendance
Eastern brought a good number of their fans but EMU does not move the needle for the locals. Cant use last year as an example because it was BG. That was a freak occurrence

I have a group that comes from Colorado, Pennsylvania and Indiana every year to the homecoming game. Special for me. But I know there not enough like me.

The other issue is the number of tickets sold to local companies and organizations that do a crummy job getting them in the hands of people that will go. And heck I buy a fan plan package and only use a couple games myself. Pot and kettle have been introduced....I know.

Akron in two weeks will be much worse

RE: Attendance
Taking this from another thread from another poster because it needs to be addressed...

Game day experience inside the Glass Bowl from concessions to merchandise to the music to the crowd entertainment must be drastically improved...

I agree. For starters, I noticed way too many times when play was stopped due to a questionable penalty or review (refs sucked) and it was absolutely silent in the Glass Bowl. No music, no band playing, just silence.

Game day experience needs a bigger feel.

RE: Attendance
After years of GB attendance we can at least cross off the band from the THINGS THAT NEED FIXING list...love what they bring. Not too sure of our marketing folks and "fan experience" team...they need to spend a summer with the Hens to get with it.
