I didn't go because it was my anniversary....but even when it was first announced I was surprised by the DJ/Music choices. I'm a casual EDM fan and my wife and I were confused as to why we were having DrFameus and DJ Drizno there in the first place.
DrFameus is a pet-project that almost nobody knows about from a guy that is a drummer in another band that only slightly more people know about. DJ Drizno is even lesser known.
I honestly asked myself..."Who wanted them?" I would guess it was not the players or the students. Not at all surprised that they all left when the "concert" started.
Could we have gotten The Chainsmokers? Obviously not. But they would have been better off just putting "EDM Concert to Follow" on the posters than plastering their names on everything because doing so it only makes you wonder "Who???"...which isn't want you want students asking when trying to pump them up for an event.
It's just...we go from Kid Ink (gold album) to Khalid (gold album and 2x platinum single) to Sam Hunt (2015 AMA New Artist of the Year, 3x platinum album) to....DrFameus (almost 500 Twitter followers)?
But, I wasn't there...so I can't comment on the actual quality of the event.
