Hoops After Dark
Surprised there wasn't already a thread.

I thought the event went well and thought we had a good crowd. It was really cool to see us use the video floor display. I hope we see that all season long.

Gueye and Bryant's athleticism really jumped out at me. Was also pretty fun watching Darling drill 4 30 foot jumpers on 4 consecutive possessions during the scrimmage.

It looked like there were three recruits at the event. Anyone know who they are?

Nate's shooting display was impressive. He nearly made that half court shot too. The floor projection was pretty sweet.

One was Jude who we already have a commit from. He was likely using his OV. The other isn't supposed to be known from what I've heard. I can tell you he is a 4 star forward with major offers. The other kid ... no clue.

Told him to sign with the Blazers and take a sad song and make it better.

Really like the glowstick thing, should use that every time for intro. Didn't see the floor pros probably very entertaining. Wonder who the recruit was we seem to be keep close to the vest, a transfer maybe?

I thought the event was low energy for that amount of students. It took 30 mins to just announce the Men/Women's players coaches.

There must have been too much CO2 in Bartow.

I'd like to see it moved it back outside in the nice October weather.

Josh Leblanc is a reach, but that's my guess. no longer has a top 2. Reopened recruitment.

It was a learning experience for them I'm sure. I saw video of the concert at the end and it was literally empty. A lot of money went in to that. It was a neat idea but for whatever reason it didn't translate to the students wanting to take part.

Reopened recruitment? Thought he narrowed his schools and was going to announce Nov 12th.

Yeah I don't mean to bash it and I go every year. I didn't like the strip club announcer too much either. I guess I spent too much time in Charlie's Go Go back in the day.

I know nobody said it was an uncommitted 4 star forward, but he is the only one I know of.

Gotcha, thanks for the info. He would be a great pick up though, thought he was going to stay instate. I wouldn't hesitate to let the recruiting world know of a top 100 recruit watching a scrimmage in Bartow. Love that we could pull in three bigs to replace to of the best we've had since Cam.

I didn't go because it was my anniversary....but even when it was first announced I was surprised by the DJ/Music choices. I'm a casual EDM fan and my wife and I were confused as to why we were having DrFameus and DJ Drizno there in the first place.

DrFameus is a pet-project that almost nobody knows about from a guy that is a drummer in another band that only slightly more people know about. DJ Drizno is even lesser known.

I honestly asked myself..."Who wanted them?" I would guess it was not the players or the students. Not at all surprised that they all left when the "concert" started.

Could we have gotten The Chainsmokers? Obviously not. But they would have been better off just putting "EDM Concert to Follow" on the posters than plastering their names on everything because doing so it only makes you wonder "Who???"...which isn't want you want students asking when trying to pump them up for an event.

It's just...we go from Kid Ink (gold album) to Khalid (gold album and 2x platinum single) to Sam Hunt (2015 AMA New Artist of the Year, 3x platinum album) to....DrFameus (almost 500 Twitter followers)?

But, I wasn't there...so I can't comment on the actual quality of the event.

There is another SG/SF we are very interested in - 4star. I suspect it was him. He has multiple offers including many P5. That's all I'll say here as it may not have been him and I think there is probably a good reason it is kept under wraps...
