My God, Tulane actually has a pulse
Even if Tulsa sucks...wow...Tulane hasn't had this much of a pulse in 19 years.

This is what happens when a university is committed to winning and hires a real coach. I have all faith in coach Fritz and his system. Roll Wave!

I've been a fan of the Willie Fritz hire since day one. Let's hope that the athletics success translates into support from NOLA

RE: My God, Tulane actually has a pulse
4 years ago, we beat Tulsa 14-7 in the Superdome. The W put us at 6-2 for the season and I really thought we had finally turned the corner, 8 years after Katrina. Alas, no.

A win like this obviously bolsters confidence. We shall see if it lasts. Here's hoping.

Someone else please verify but my information is that Tulane has now lost 2 turnovers so far this season (5 games).

i was a big believer in Fritz at SHSU. Can flat-out coach. Take the talent given and just wins.
I thought he would get a look when we hired Herman. Either way, we were okay.
Congrats Tulane.[/font]

We will attract locals if we continue to win in the AAC & schedule an SEC team each year for a home n home.
We currently have a pro-Athletics President in Michael Fitts & a very competent AD in Troy Dannen. Willy Fritz has the support that no head football coach has had at Tulane since the late 1940's. If this trio stays together Tulane Football can draw a local non-alumni fan base.

Great win Tulane. We play you all in 3 weeks in--I'll go out on a limb here--a high scoring game, lol.

In other news for schools getting back on track, Iowa State beat Oklahoma this afternoon in Norman.

As good as i hope Tulane turns out to be, please don't use Tulsa's massive suckage of what they're trying to pass off as a football team create overconfidence for the green wave.

It isn’t just that we beat Tulsa. It’s how we beat them. It’s their worst loss all year, and they’ve played some solid teams in Navy and OSU.

Technically, OSU won by one more point but I get what you mean.

Curtis Johnson elevated the program in both talent and coaching to a much better position than Bob Toledo left it (and he left it as a C-USA punching bag). CJ peaked in 2013, but it really didn't deteriorate much. We just moved to a much tougher conference that contained, at most, one soft spot a year; but our 2014 and 2016 teams are definite bowl teams in new-C-USA (with 2015 a possibility).
And now Fritz is raising it again.

Congrats on the win, Tulane. You have become a tough out for upper level AAC teams.
