The OP idea is good, but as others have mentioned, would not work as suggested. But, How about the conference pick a mid season week that no other conference is promoting as a rivalry week and do it then. also, we are a 10 team league now, and have 3 of the 5 games with built in ready to go rivalries already. App St- GS, Troy-USA, and Louisiana-stAte, that only leave 4 teams, that happen to be fairly close related to location, in Texas St-ULM, and GSU -CCU. It couldn't hurt giving these game a trophy. finally, you would have to convince espn, to allow these games to stay on Saturdays.

The App-GS game would produce capacity crowds nearly every year if they were played on Saturdays again.

We could both be 0-11 and still pack a stadium for that game.

If you ask any GS/App fan, they are going to claim the primary rival is each other, but GSU is going to claim GS as its rival

Western Carolina considered App as their main rival, but from 1983 until 2013 the it was a one way street. App 26 - WCU 4. It takes two baby, it takes two...

Good idea, but need to play around the SEC's, the ACC's, & the Big 12's big games. I'm would not expect SEC-type attendance, but an SBC rivalry week would show what the SBC is all about.
