As it looks now, I think the AAC may have another coach drain after this season.

John Wirsten has a good thing going at Colorado-Pueblo. He has to be on Oregon St.'s short list.

Arkansas will have Raymond Monica's name circled after what he has done at Arkansas Tech.

Wagner just won a football game, so you have to think Jason Houghtaling could make some noise with certain SEC/ACC/Big Ten teams.

And who could forget Tom Minnick? He is now "the winningest football coach in Arizona Western College history"! He is CLEARLY ready to make the jump from juco to P5!

He knows that anyday, Arizona Western will become a four-year school, and immediately get a Pac 12 invite to lockdown the greater Yuma-San Luis metro area.

with all the money they owe him if he is fired it would be hard to imagine he would walk away from that, but at the same time if the right offer came and it had a fresh 5 year guarantee and the same stupid money it would be hard to think he would not consider it

in the short term so much money is eaten up by taxes that lasting for another year or two can really matter in the long term finances of what you actually keep and if the tax laws pass well again at least for a few years he might be keeping more money so it would make sense to look at career longevity especially if the overall pay was about the same and the contract guarantees were the same or longer

Jobs that pay as much as A&M are few and far between. What schools would you suggest?

UCLA could be an option

or one of the AZ schools

while none of them currently pay what A&M does if he thinks he is year to year with A&M and he can get a fresh 5 years with any of the others I think he would consider it

if you are looking at getting $5 million a year for one more year (after this one) and possibly getting fired well you cut 39% off of that and you are at $3,050,000

if you can get a guaranteed $4 million at any of the above well you are looking at 39% of $12 to $20 million and possibly more if the tax laws get it down to 35% and depending on the years guaranteed

either way facing getting fired after 1 more season for $5 million and probably starting over as a coordinator or taking a couple of years off and seeing if anyone will hire you Vs moving for a guaranteed $12 million to $20 million over 3 to 5 years......and if you get 9 wins at any of those places your first year or 8 wins with a "big win" you might get another year tacked on guaranteed

I think none of the SEC SEC SEC schools would consider him although Ole' Miss MIGHT if they get desperate I don't think that Tennessee, Arkansas or Auburn (if they make a switch) would

Missouri MIGHT consider him as well and could come up with $4 million per year especially if they thought he had the "Texas connection" and Kansas might be a LONG SHOT there as well if Rummy had his agent really putting the feelers out and if Kansas could maybe get him for under $4 million guaranteed and they believed the "Texas connection" was there for recruiting

looking at the last hire of Nebraska and his record Vs Rummy hell he would be a step up in overall record and experience and again the "Texas recruiting" and they can pay what he makes at A&M easily
