Cubs playoff game starts at 4:30. If it's a blowout, how empty will the stadium be in the second half?

We all know that Santa is the better QB, looks to be getting better with experience, and the offense is gelling around him. To pull him for Graham would be a crime and a major insult to the team and fans.

I say this with a heavy heart because I like Graham as a kid, and he has given his all for the team. Class guy. He could also develop into a decent MAC QB. It's just that at this time, Santa provides the better option.

It'd be nice if all the alums who came out of the woodwork after the Nebraska game saying how proud they were of Huskie football to actually show it by coming to Huskie Stadium this weekend.

They either saw it on news, local sports show, heard on radio or most likely read about the win on social media. They celebrate wins and great seasons, react on a big loss or pathetic season. Nothing in between. Most, no interest in going to a game anywhere, any time. And actually, the few alumni I know outside looking in go on road trips in place of DeKalb to visit friends/family.

No one cares about football unless it is highly successful, even then most don't go. Social media, boasting about it is their extent. Why they don't go, another story.Topic has been covered more than teen faces with Clearasil.

That article says "if healthy". Do we know if Graham has been throwing in practices yet? anyone?

If he is, I would love to see him get some game reps in, late in the 3rd or in the 4th quarter. As we know, you can never have too many QBs.
Even if Santa starts for the foreseeable future, at some point this year we will need Graham to carry us, that's one thing I'd bet on.

Given recent history (especially post Harnish and Lynch) I sure would not bet against that! However, it looks like the O philosophy is to limit Santa taking hits; smart move IMO.

Interesting article

http://www.daily-chronicle.com/lists/201...xml?page=1

Carey singing Huff's praises; I agree, Huff was the better RB v. Penny in the game.

Carey obviously sees the upside to Santa and he hopes (as we do) that he will learn from his mistakes. Trying to read between the lines; is Carey saying if Graham was ready he would start? I am reading it as Carey would go with Santa and will, so long as Santa makes better decisions and limits mistakes.

Where Penny is dangerous is on the outside, he's hard to tackle one on one in space, more so than Huff. I'm surprised they didn't get Penny to the outside more early in the game. Huff gets a lot of tough yards inside, but still gets some yards after contact on the outside and makes nice cuts, using his blocks well. Glad to see Huff is proving my confidence in him the last few years was justified.

If Carey and staff couldn't see that Huff was a special kind of talent before then they were blind. Huff has the type of athletic gift that isn't just coachable, he was born with it. He has size, speed, and agility. He should have been the #1 last season and should have been the starter to begin this season. Just as Santa should have been the starter to begin the season. Play your best players and stop holding them back. Huff and Santa have earned that by their play on the field.

Hey Dog Pound North, Jones is still better than Huff, right? 03-lmfao
Santa isn't the answer, right? Still want Graham, right? 03-lmfao

It still irks me that we had a huge crowd of NIU at Northwestern in 2014, but we can't draw nearly as many fans to DeKalb. It's not as if Barb City is in the Dakota Territory. Tickets are cheaper and traffic better too at NIU games.

I just wonder if most fans have made the judgment that the stakes are not high enough for MAC play. NIU has fortunately wore out attendance in Detroit. Most realize that unless you are talking about an undefeated team, flawless MAC performance gives you a crap bowl game, and to even make this worse, the best MAC team is not even assured the best crappy bowl. A playoff system allowing access for MAC champ would skyrocket attendance

Huskies have enough trouble winning the "crap bowl games". Their last bowl victory was the Go Daddy Bowl after the '11 season.

Carey figured it out. Just took him a couple years too long.

Huff might have had the talent to run like he did the last two games but I believe he rarely showed that much toughness his first three years. That is why JB played more even though Huff did well as a change of pace back and he did have trouble blocking and at a time had fumble issues. The last two games he has reminded me of Chad Spann and I hope it continues.

Huff should be grateful to the coaching staff for saving his body a pounding over the last couple years. Rod really does make you scratch your head sometime and say .... wtf.

He rarely showed that toughness? He's gotten more than 100 yards every time he's gotten 15+ carries, I believe. All he ever needed was the oppotunity...
