Joe Novak would have given Huff the ball 40x a game!! I used to go nuts when he used to pound GW...but Joe knew what he had. Rod Carey can't see the forest for the trees.

He certainly would have run Huff from the SDSU 20 down 6 with 2:30 left... With the OL dominating.

I loved coach Novak but he overused GW in the MAC Championship game against the zippity doo dahs. When we needed a first down in a short yardage situation GW was spent and unable to pick it up.

RE: Kent State - Homecoming Game
We lost that MACC because we had no pass defense, not because Wolfe couldn't get one yard on that one play. We gave up boatloads of passing yards to Akron earlier in the year too.

I didn't see any difference in the toughness that Huff showed 3 years ago vs. this year. The only difference is that he's getting more carries so it's more obvious.

No single thing caused that loss. Larry English going down did not help, one of the Hansbros dropped an interception that would have sealed it and IMO very importantly the team could not run the ball to get a first down that would have won the game as the clock ran out. Wolfe had nothing left in the tank late in Q4.

It's never one thing but that pass defense, yikes. We gave up over 400 passing yards and to add to it, like you said, they couldn't catch easy interceptions.

The reason we lost was Luke Getsy. He was on fire. We couldn't stop him. English certainly would've helped because we couldn't stop him. That 40 yard pass at the end still haunts me to this day... and the third and 33. 03-weeping
