**suppressed** not "silenced"

And it's not just semantics, they literally are two different things.

Media has been calling this an automatic weapon all day long. They're either still ignorant on guns, or this guy used an illegal gun. Listening to the video, the shots do ring out pretty quick, but it could still be trigger pull speed.

Time to wait on the facts. At this point it's stupid to blame either the right or left politically. We know literally zero facts on this. People jumping to accuse the other side are all part of the problem.

He used an automatic weapon. If you want to buy one you have to go through a special FBI background check, and you probably need $10,000 to buy one from a private seller. This guy was old enough he could have owned it since the law made it illegal/grandfathered in 1986?

I've always said to friends, coworkers and family that while I always hated the statistic that VT was the worst mass shooting in US history, I would be glad if it stayed that way forever since it would mean nothing worse had happened. Sadly, that has not been the case.

I assume they are waiting for confirmation of his identity, such as, identification of the body by family, etc.

Another sad day for America.
Racially motivated? How did you come up with that?

Their reflexes are to always blame the left wing.

I believe he is one of your fellow board leftists, so the only reflex is your own.

All signs lead to being a Trumpian.

RE: Mass shooting in Vegas
This is beyond almost comprehension. Way too early to know the motives, but it is purely disgusting and cowardly. Hope he rots in Hell and anybody associated with helping him finds themselves on the bad end of a short rope and tall limb.

Interesting piece from an article I haven't seen posted yet.

Quote:One witness at the concert told DailyMail.com that a woman had entered the crowd with a male companion and screamed 'They're all around... You're all going to f***ing die today' just 45 minutes before the gunfire broke out.
The woman was described as being Hispanic and in her 50s; she and the man were escorted out of the venue by security.
Witness Breanna Hendricks, who was in Vegas celebrating her 21st birthday, said: 'There was a lady who came running up behind us in the concert and she started to play with people's hair acting crazy and she told us that we're all going to f***ing die.
'She said they're all around us and we were going to die,' continued Hendricks, whose mom Shawn Hendricks also witnessed the startling altercation.
'She was Hispanic, probably about 5ft 5, brown hair. It felt like she had knowledge of what was about to happen, her and her boyfriend who was also Hispanic.
'The woman was saying her boyfriend couldn't breathe so they could get through the crowd.
'It seemed she was telling us to either warn us or she was part of it and she was telling us because she knew we were going to die, it was so scary.'
It's not clear whether what she witnessed is related to the shooting or not.

It could be anywhere with a tall building adjacent to a large gathering. Times Square NYE comes to mind. T'Giving Day parades. Etc.

I hope there's a special torture chamber in hell for mass shooters/killers (jihadists, school shooters, Dylan Roof, this Vegas codger, etc.).

On a side note. I think this is a big reason attendance is down across all entertainment. When I go to an Indians game and it's always with free tickets because I don't have this pressing need to see events live. I would much rather be at my house. The picture is 1000x's better and the food and drinks are better and cheaper. I always worry about an active shooter. This is a part of our lives now.

Silencers don't suppress the sound like they do in the movies.

The guy was so prepared that he had 8 guns, 2 platforms, and had rigged the room with cameras to know when the police were coming. That is not a lone wolf as the media is claiming.

Off topic, but I'm kinda surprised that you would go support a team that slanders an entire minority populace.

Whatever the reason, it's a tragic event. It certainly doesn't fit any logical connections of other terrorism events in the past. Yet.

BTW Hburg originally theorized it was Antifa and my initial response was to him.

I have a hard time buying the disgruntled employee theory. A disgruntled employee does not shoot people at a concert, they shoot up the place of previous employment. Not saying it is Antifa, but just strange the media does not call this a terrorist act.

He's the age of a disgruntled employee. Kind of old for antifa or terrorists.

I wonder if Congress will go through with the gun silencer bill that was on the schedule for this week. They don't care about optics.

I was listening to the news and and they played audio. The shots sounded like full auto. Way too fast for semi-auto. Either he had a special permit or he bought an illegal weapon somehow. It'll be Interesting to hear what his motive was.

I'm not saying what the guy is other than a dead idiot but the man who shot up the Capital Hill baseball game was a older left wing nut case.

Really....this is your political play on this? Since it appears that he wasn't using a silencer, would changing their mind in the halls of Congress make any difference in this case? I guess never let a calamity go to waste.
