Empty Sue has literally been decimated by injuries. The FAU result was not a surprise to many of their fans in the know. MTSU only had five of the original 11 offensive starters from week one.

FAU has a good offense, particularly on the ground, but our defense should be up to the task, at least for awhile.
FAU has two pretty good RBs in Singletary and Howell.
Returning to #1 on the depth chart, QB Jason Driskel is an efficient passer who can run when necessary.
6'1" DeAndre McNeal is the primary go-to WR and an effective weapon but our DBs should not be overmatched.
I do not like the matchup with the Owl TE, 6'5" Harrison Bryant. He is big and fast, and could overwhelm our LBs and overpower over our DBs.

The FAU defense is not particularly good; either against the pass or the run.
This will give us the opportunity to get a sense of where our offense is going.

As stated, we will need to generate some offense or our D will not last through four quarters.
Albany was shut out by Elon Saturday, and UMass' success vs UT was against what subsequently has shown itself to be a Vol squad in total disarray.

Compughter ratings has FAU beating us by 9.
I am not going to predict a score or outcome as I just have no idea at all.

07-coffee3
Our D is better than the stats. Our first two games were against Navy and UW who made the run stats look a little weird.
Against Buffalo we only allowed 3.6 yards a carry and 39 total running yards vs MTSU.
The design of the D is to force turnovers we play a lot of man with some really good young DB'S yards will come
and we have really talented young guys in the secondary and they can be overly aggressive and give up some third down play they should have just batted a ball.

Also feeling good I just booked a flight to the game and meeting some friends from school who are driving down from DC (we are all in the 26-30 range). We are excited to see what ODU has to offer on game day. You fans have been nice when ever they have come down here.

What should we do? where should we go? Good college bars? Anyone have tailgate maybe we can join (maybe with TV LOL) we will bring alcohol...

Considering Toast, Handsome Bisquit, Smalls and Croakers are all in Park Place, it's not the sarcastic recommendation it would have been five years ago. And that's without adding the great food trucks that go to O'Connors.

Bier Garden, Moseberths and Stove are fantastic. MoMac is awesome but not close to downtown PTown at all. Legend is a big letdown IMO.

If this is the case I'm going to be pissed off. Our run game is garbage. We'll waste a quarter trying to run the ball just like against NCU. We need to open the game throwing and use the passing game to open up the run game.

NCU is apt. They put the educational aspect last.

I don't trust the new Cogans. It's too respectable. It doesn't have the down-home charms of angry service and broom closet bathrooms that make the original what it is.

I know. It's their staple. And worth going to any location for*. $1 slices on Thursdays.

*Waterside not included since it's Cogans INO.

That does not sound like good news. My guess it is means that our receivers are not good enough to make the spread work. Or that Williams isn't, but I don't think that's the case.

I haven't heard Bobby say it, but the whole "spread offense" talk is really meaningless so I'm not sure what he's referring too. We run the spread and have always run the spread. Whether you run or pass out of the spread is meaningless in terms of what you call the offensive system. We are going to run 3 or 4 WRs and 0 or 1 TEs.

Indubitably, just seemed like you were using spicy sauce as a reason for Cogans North over Original Cogans.

I personally prefer original cogans, but then again I'm walking distance from there so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And I think we can all agree that Cogans Waterside is #FakeNews

RE: FAU
A loss doesn't end our season and a win doesn't make it. It's a game between two reasonably close teams. I hope we have used the bye week to get healthy and I'm confident Williams has been working his butt off to be prepared for the start.

There are two things that will be interesting to watch and are the most important factors for the remaining games in the season; A) how we stop their run game and B)How well we run the game.

FAU has a pretty good CUSA running game, but the passing attack is not very potent at all. It is kind of reverse of our strength on defense. Hopefully, we can slow down the rushing game because they will not be able to move the ball through the air IF they are one dimensional. If they run well and we have to put more guys in the box, they will have a chance to move the ball.

On offense, there are a ton of question marks and hopefully the drop in competition shows our offense is better than it showed last week. There secondary will not be able to overpower us like the VT secondary was able to do. Williams will struggle at times, but I absolutely love what I've seen from him so far. His athletic ability will open up the running game some as well.

Im surprised they are favored over us but the books tend to be "what have you done for me lately" and people see FAU beat MTSU (even if they are a shell of normal selves).
