Look for Brian Napkin to finish the season and win the job.

Napkin once again gets called on to clean up the mess.

I was going to go for... "way to go UTEP for wiping your mouth on a Napkin."

But seriously... could you have not waited ONE MORE game???

Price did finish with a big decline but for interim purposes it's fine. The other options of either Mason or Natkin were doomed to go winless. With Price there is some suspense as to what he can do with his last chance at coaching.

I have no problem with Mike Price being the interim HC. He is already on record saying he is not interviewing for the job and will not be our HC next season. That said, I hope this isn't a transition or step in bringing in his son Eric as our next HC.

UTEP fans have brought his name up quite often. Also El Paso media are suggesting Sterlin Gilbert, OC at USF; Colby Carthel, head coach of Div ll Angelo St; OC at Okie St Mike Yurcich; Harrell the OC at UNT; Eric Morriss, the OC at Texas Tech.

ESPN report says Yurcich is a top candidate for the job. Knowing UTEP like I do they will find some obscure former UTEP FB player that is running a car wash somewhere and name him head coach.

I think it would be a really bad move for UTEP if they gave it to Harrell. He has a long way to go to be a good play caller, much less a head coach.

UTEP needs to think outside of the box. Don't go for a name but find a D2 or FCS coach whose had success away from fertile recruiting areas. A guy whose similar to Craig Bohl would be perfect This next coaching hire is gonna be a really really important one for the Miner program.

Just to finish out this season. Still a popular winter resident of El Paso and still a friend of UTEP athletics and Bob Stull the retiring AD. Looking forward to a new AD coming on board soon so the search for the real next head football coach can get going.

If he can get the Miners winning again and gets hired away by a bigger program, I'm fine with that. Beats firing coaches due to poor performance.

.
"9 points in 5 games" ?
How about 93 points in 4 games, not exactly lighting up the scoreboard but not quite as inept as 9.
Also why is there a picture of a team called the "Highlanders" at the intro to the article? What is the relationship to UTEP or WKU?
