Im pretty sure Baylor wouldn't be winless if they had played ULL and Coastal Carolina instead of Oklahoma and Kansas St the past two weeks. Just lol at a ULM win being worth more than a win in Waco. Baylor would crush ULM and UNT for that matter.

You'll get more reasons to hate us on the 14th, hater.

LOL! You're kinda big into name calling, aren't you? 03-lmfao

There's a lot of hate between our programs, more then some want to believe. This board will probably get pretty ugly next week. Some of those posts would probably make a sailor blush. A few posters can't wait to hate. Poor UTSA can't even focus on their game with Southern Miss because the hate is so strong. Only real hate can cause such irrational behavior. 01-wingedeagle

I hope their team is equally distracted :)

I'm pretty sure anything that is said on these forums will not affect the outcomes of any game. Remember, we aren't the ones playing these games. We are just fans talking FB and others making unrelated posts/comments in an attempt to degrade/trigger the opposing team.

It's our first conference game of the season, and you guys are pretty solid, so I'd be surprised if the team has their minds on anything else but defending the dome.

That "dump" is worth about 5 times more than your high school stadium and is about to host it's 4th Final Four. Does Asspogee even host high school playoff games yet?

Sure Apogee hosts HS Playoff games. And at least we can call Apogee our “on campus” stadium. The City of SA hosts the final four. Not NutsaK. The dump “rent a stadium” is nothing but a failed attempt at an NFL franchise. Seriously, I was amazed at the condition of the Alamodome last year at the game I attended.

It was under renovation last year.

RE: UTSA ready to roll
USM will beat UTSA Saturday.

Why? Because that's what USM has done since the beginning of time...we win games we're supposed to lose and we lose games we're supposed to win. That and our coaches/players learned a LOT from our mistakes last weekend. Typically you don't want to play a team after a bad performance because it just means they will take practice super personal all week (with a little chip on their shoulder) just itching to go out and right the ship. This is the case here. Not only are USM players motivated to prove last week's performance was an anomaly (no offense UNT) but they are HIGHLY motivated because they know what happened last year vs UTSA. The numbers "32-55" have been plastered all over the locker room this week...this was last year's USM/UTSA score. You'll see a very p!ssed off USM team Saturday. Ito will get 20+ touches and 150+ all purpose and Griggs will start to find his groove. Southern Miss 44 UTSA 31.

Congratulations on your tailgating honor. I must have seen it 4 or 5 times during the C-USA streaming of the game last week.

I agree, I believe USM wins this week. The weaknesses of the Southern Miss team were exposed by North Texas. I wouldn't call it an "anomaly". Had the game gone on longer, the score would have only gotten uglier. But a good coaching staff will address those issues and force UTSA to try and make in game adjustments. I don't believe the UTSA offense is as potent as the Mean Green's. I believe there are a few key personnel and scheme match-ups that favor USM tonight. Good luck. 04-cheers

Well all of the stats say otherwise. UTSA is statistically the better team and should come out with the win but like I always say, anything happens in football. Relying on your argument that USM is upset with emotions and will correct their mistakes probably won't get them far. Just ask Baylor. Their fans said "Baylor is pissed after losing to Liberty and would NOT let another win slip away" from them at their home. This sounds like the same scenerio. It's kinda hard to win a game when the other team is just the better team. Plus UTSA is at home and had a week rest, so the odds are against USM. Not saying they can't win, but based on all stats it's unlikely. But good luck to USM today.

RE: UTSA ready to roll
USM was at home with a week's rest before our game vs North Texas, MAYBE our guys were looking ahead to this game? It's possible but again, this is what we do. We win the games we're supposed to lose historically. Bottom line is it won't shock me one bit if we win by 20 or lose by 20. This is the jekyl/hyde that USM tends to be sometimes.

I don't usually engage your comments. To me, you tend to try and ruffle feathers with the North Texas fan base, and I find that counterproductive. I will just say this...

Football is a game of match-ups. Last week, North Texas had a slim advantage in a few key match-ups, and our coaches were smart enough to exploit those match-ups.

Southern Miss is a very good team. Personally, I think USM has a few more match-up advantages against UTSA. If the Runners go into this game thinking Southern Miss is soft and don't bring their "A" game, USM will embarrass them.

I mean I just find it funny that y'all dont use the same logic with USM about "not beating anyone" like y'all do with us. They beat the same Southern team we did, an average ULM, lost their game to a below average P5, and lost at home to a UNT team that didn't look that great against UAB or SMU.

It's entirely possible that they just might not be as good as we all thought. Instead, you automatically crown them and every one of you is predicting a USM upset to try to elevate your win against them.

I don't think you are giving Southern Miss or ULM enough credit. Monroe is a solid team and will finish in the upper half of the Sun Belt this season. USM will end the season bowl eligible. You are also overlooking UAB. That is a mistake. UAB will give LA Tech fits on Saturday. Not saying they will win, but they are much better then they should be after missing two season of football. In my opinion C-USA West is a very dangerous division this season.

I also believe USM has a better resume right now. But that isn't even why I'm picking them. I think they have a few key match-ups in their favor. Combine that with having already played a more difficult schedule, and you have the making of an upset this Saturday in San Antonio.
I'll be watching on Stadium.

North Texas fans have no need to try and "elevate our win". It's a win, and at the end of the day it will only go down as one "W". Yes, it was important, because it was a key victory that we had to have in order to move us towards bowl eligibility this season, and it was against a key program in C-USA West, but if we don't improve over in the upcoming weeks it will all be for not. Again, I'm not basing my prediction on how USM played North Texas. That would be foolish. We won't be on the field Saturday.

The results of this game will come down to how these teams match-up against each other.
I think more people should focus on that when they pick games, and leave the emotions and personal fan allegiances out of it.

I'm bumping this because I know there was at least one poster that thought I was crazy for stating this the other day.

The game will be determined by how the two teams match-up? That was some groundbreaking analysis. You weren't even willing to specify on what mismatches they had. No props from me there. You were apparently right about UAB though- -that was surprising.

See you next week.
