What I posted is my opinion and let me tell you many share the same thought as me. You're a Liberal and we'll never agree on much. No problem. I don't know you and I doubt that your opinion will make a dent in my life or thinking. Unlike Bernie and Killary bots most conservatives can think for themselves.

We may not agree on much but that does not mean we might not have things in common. I try to focus on those things and I truly believe there are more things we have in common than don't. If you are just going to play the oh your are liberal, when you know nothing about me, and that you think only conservatives have a brain, then you are one of the bots you rail against.

You both like football. 'Merica!

Yep. Harvard Fellow. Cultivating a political career. Yawn

Several points to be made here:
1. Generals are appointed by Congress
2. In 2015 according to the FBI statistics African Americans (13% of the total population) accounted for 51.1% of murders (mostly black on black).
3. This is what happens when the real victims (Grand Parents and older) have their experiences turned into claims of victimization by descendants. No amount of reparation could atone for the suffering of those who were disenfranchised and abused, and no amount of reparation is sufficient for those who didn't suffer it. Therein lies the public's disconnect on this issue. So historical victimization now equals entitlement. Well if that's the case then just about everyone in the United States has historical claims to entitlement. My ancestors were victims of religious persecution in Europe, people sent to the colonies as indentured servants, pressed into duty for the Royal Navy, and Native American. I'm sure most Americans are the same with variations. The extra police scrutiny is in part the result of disproportionate violent crime statistics. It might not be just in practice but it is statistically understandable.

Your reasons make sense, but only looking at murders does not account for the other issues being protested.

X, it's not like only Blacks have been persecuted in the US. I'm hispanic and I know about my ancestors being persecuted because they weren't the right shade of White. Does that mean that I should be protesting for those insufficiencies? Heck no. My brother shared your idea of fighting a persecution that IMHO is not there like it used to be. Is it still present? Of course, I've sampled a bit of it myself in the military. At one time an Alabaman Tech Sergeant yelled into the break room where we mechanics would wait for any aircraft that needed repair, "where's my wetback?" I took offense to this but a fellow hispanic yelled back, "which one?" I got mad at him and put him down for being stupid. I could have probably taken it up with the IG but heck, in those days it was common practice to put each others ancestries down. I used to do it too, many times as an S O and many times as a defense. Remember, if there should be reparations Mexican Americans would be entitled to Tejas. I don't want that, I'm an American and I do not hold any allegiance to Mexico and never will. I would fight them if push came to shove and I would give my life to the "IDEALS" that this country stands for. And that's standing for the Anthem and the Flag which I served proudly as an Airman and a Reserve Seaman.

Too bad my older brother has died perhaps some who are still fighting the Mex. Amer. War would have an ally. Not me, I know where my bread is buttered and I'm grateful for being part of this country and I would never wipe my feet on the flag.

Ahem, sorry for the rant. 03-wink

Nah, the Indians would get Texas. Spain and Mexico never controlled it. They were just tolerated. Texans only controlled half of it. America only controlled half until the 1870s.

Because that's what it is, a work place. YOU try protesting a cause that's important to YOU where YOU work, let's see how it goes.

These overpaid athletes are conducting their protests in their WORKPLACES and they know they won't be fired because the owners are more interesting in the status quo, i.e. MONEY, than anything else. They're afraid of the Liberalturds too and the MSM which will conduct PR wars and make the owners look like racists which they are not and for those that are its' again because it involves their lively hood, MONEY.

It's their right to protest and the owners rights to let them but what you don't understand is that we as FANS also have rights. Our right to withhold our money and time watching these whiney indulged athletes.

Screw them. When everyone sees reason perhaps I'll come back and watch them but I have a right not to also.

Opting not to stand for a ceremony is not a protest, it's simple not participating. If you don't like it, then it ignore it, like you did Tamir Rice, John Crawford and Philando Castille.

All three of them? Wow. Astounding national "crisis level" statistic you have there.

Of course you can. Doesn't mean you guys have a great track record of doing it. You're human like everyone else and groupthink is the most used gun in your arsenal right now.

The Lt. General may be a communist, but he's right on this one.

People in this country have a right to protest and you have a right to not like it.
