In Alabama however, where there is no NFL team and the league is 70% black, he says those that kneel are Sons of *******.

But that ain't racist?

Come on man. 07-coffee307-coffee307-coffee307-coffee307-coffee3

It wasn't a KKK rally but there were KKK members there. It was going to be a peaceful protest regarding the removal of a historical confederate statue. So, yeah, there were plenty of non-extremists there who are probably good people who don't want to see history re-written.

Here's another one for you. Most illegal aliens in the United States are Mexican. (Don't know wtf an 'undocumented immigrant' is other than a term coined by the left). So, if I want our immigration laws enforced and I want all the illegal aliens rounded up and deported does that make me racist against Hispanics? The left says it does.

Read my signature and get back to me. What's next if they don't get whatever it is they want?

Burning a flag? Urinating on a flag? Defecating on a flag? You good with that too? Sounds like you might be.

They can say they aren't disrespecting the flag or the military or our nation all they want to but the reality is that's EXACTLY what they are doing.

They do have the right to protest and I have the right to speak out against their protest. It's a misguided protest. The United States of America (the nation / government) does not participate in 'social injustice'; individuals do. There is no cause to disrespect the flag, the anthem, and the military by kneeling during the anthem.

They can SAY they are not being disrespectful to our nation or our military but they really are. It's like me dropping an 'N'-bomb and saying I didn't mean it in a racist manner........

Precisely. Great way of putting this into context, I'm going to use this as well. Bottom line is they are protesting American independence from the British. Their protest of the anthem says they wish the British won the war. That may not be the intent, but if not, all they are doing is signaling ignorance. Just like if I call the black guy that cut me off on the way in to work a ni66er. I may only be targeting that individual and have no disdain toawrd black people in general... I may have scores of black friends... I may even be married to a black woman... but to anyone that hears me, I am a racist or ignorant at best.

Ahhhhh bull****!!! It has been a said over and over the reasons they were doing this but if you want to keep it at that so you don’t have to listen to the actual reason because it wrecks your world view.

Exactly. They have said over and over again that it has nothing to do with the flag or the military. But they won't listen because they want a reason to hate them.

Or as Trump says "Those people"

They can say it all they want to but they are shitting on the flag, the anthem, the military, and the nation.

Pick another time to protest. Easy.

The false narrative is that kneeling before the Pledge is disrespectful. That's what Trump wants you to believe because he wants you to hate those people because hate is what drives his supporters.

Quote:These people are professional athletes that are afforded a great deal of camera time and publicity. If they truly wanted to take action for their cause, no matter how ignorant they are of the actual facts, they could do so at a more appropriate time.

That is your opinion and perhaps you are right but this is how they have chosen to protest and it isn't going away. Perhaps if someone actually started a national conversation about this subject, we could get to the bottom of a solution.

A solution to what? What exactly is 'social injustice'? What law needs to be changed or expunged. People are people and have individual thoughts and take individual actions for whateve3r reason all the time. That's not changing.

Mississippi State fans will always hate Ole Miss fans and say and do disgusting things to each other. Not changing. Ever.

Serious. What are these over paid goofballs protesting?

They are protesting a president that is getting into their business. Those who weren't even in the protest this whole time were insulted that their teammates were brought up.

The owners are into it because he insulted their business.

It's now a Trump protest.

Why is it a Trump protest?

What are they protesting about Trump?

You are protesting and showing disrespect for the flag, and every soldier who ever served / died and for all the sacrifices made by the earlier generations to build what we have today.

THERE ARE NO FEDERAL LAWS ON THE BOOKS THAT PROMOTE, ENGENDER, OR ALLOW DISCRIMINATION BASED ON RACE, AGE, OR GENDER. NONE. - IS THERE SOCIAL INJUSTICE? SURE, PROBABLY; BUT IT HAS TO DO WITH INDIVIDUALS AND NOT OUR COUNTRY.

(If any group of people has a right to protest the United States of America it would the Native American population. That's it. Period.)

Entertainers (including athletes) have been given way, way too much of a voice and leadership role in setting social policy. Just because someone can sing really well or play a sport professionally does not make their opinion any more valuable than mine. Except, unfortunately it does......

It's a sad, pathetic, misguided, and disgusting display of ignorance.

We should stop playing the National Anthem at NFL games until they earn back the right to have it.

Please move this to the Political Forum.

Why did you want this moved to the political forum? And are you in agreement with the kneelers?

A compromise will be reached were players will not be required to come out of the locker room until after the anthem.

The fact that the NFL is something like 80% black is not lost on anyone by the way.

Those percentages should reflect the population at large. Right?

Is it time for affirmative action in sports?

Are whites being restricted from the sport because of their race?

That must be it. What else could it be?

I think you have to have physical talent to be considered.

No, personal ability and success have no place in the workplace.

Instead, you must have participation representative of the demographics of the general population regardless of merit.

Which means women are vastly underrepresented in the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, etc.

NO. If you want our immigration laws enforced and all "illegals" deported, that DOES NOT make you a racist.

It doesn't solve the problem of immigration however. Wouldnt you rather have a solution?

And what is violent about that? (Yes, I watched a lot of the coverage) Maybe those ARE good people who feel threatened. Maybe they'd like nothing more than to lynch some people because of the color of there skin. We may never know which one. But people carrying tiki torches and chanting "Jews will not replace us" pales in comparison to "pigs in a blanket - fry'um like bacon."
