Horribly sad. May Malcolm Rest In Peace. Eastern should wear his high school number this up coming season or something.

I hear you, but EMU was recruiting him but he did not sign. We were in the middle of the early signing period at the time of his death. Best I can tell he wasn't an EMU verbal.

Smith to High Point, we offered him before we signed King and Bud Jones last summer so I'm not surprised he went elsewhere.

Hoping JT4 returns and Minnie as well, IF both return I think we have one more scholie to give and it appears the staff really wants a wing type player with the last current scholie.

Agreed, 79. I think it goes to a wing. Hopefully Abdul Mohamed's visit went well. He seems like a perfect fit.

Go to first page, not many players left with open offers that we know about, can someone check the ESPN Jeff Goodman transfer page and see if we are in another transfer?

Thanks.

"Mohamed visited Denton recently and has also been offered a scholarship by South Florida and Eastern Michigan. He is considering taking an additional visit to Kent State, which is also recruiting him."

We are recruiting against a lot of MM+ type conferences: MWC, AAC, etc. (we had two targets sign with Fresno State and San Diego State, also Memphis and So. Florida recruiting one).

AAC and MWC are ranked #7 and 8 in the 2017/8 conference ranking by Sagarin.

Tim Bond II.

This kid sounds like a clone of Bond. Absolutely versatile, etc.

I have NO trouble guessing how EMU will recruit him: Show highlight tapes of Bond playing PG, SF, etc. Playing 94 feet as if he had wings.

Look at the jersey number... Apparently the staff sees him as the heir apparent to Tim Bond.

RE: 2018/9 EMU Men's Basketball Recruiting
I believe Stephens played wide receiver on the Penn Hills football team his junior year, not sure if he played football his senior year . Here is his senior year basketball stats:

Daivon Stephens
Penn Hills
6-6, senior, guard/forward
Stephens provided an all-around impact for WPIAL Class 6A champion Penn Hills (24-4). The versatile forward averaged 17.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.3 blocks for the Indians, who won their first title since 2003. Stephens had a double-double in the WPIAL finals with 23 points and 11 rebounds.

hudl highlights are on his twitter

https://twitter.com/Daivon__9

I guess my biggest surprise was lack of other published offers. Many of the guys we offered this year had several Div I offers.

So are we done with the 2018 class? At this point I am assuming both JT4 and Minnie are coming back, but isn't 100% etched in stone.

I’m very surprised at the lack of offers as well, because this kid appears to be incredibly versatile. He has good handles, makes good decisions, uses his feet beautifully in the post, and doesn’t shy away from contact. I think if he wasn’t the tallest kid in the team, he’d be playing PG, as opposed to posting up people, but he’s talented and clearly well-coached. Not someone that blows you away athletically, but he has long arms and will probably be great in the zone.

Seems like a good late find. I wonder why no one else (that we know of) offered him. 6’6 200 lb guys with skills like that don’t grow on trees in at the low/mid major level.

And his high school is in Pittsburgh a major metro area, also the football team at that high school got scouted by teams like Syracuse.

Things are interesting. We signed Stephens and have offers out to Mohamed and Price-Noel.

Either those offers are off the table or we might be having someone else freeing up a scholarship,

I have no idea if a little used player will leave. Not uncommon in D-I hoops.

My thoughts are that we will have 4 scholies for the 2019 class and we are done for 2018 unless either JT4 or Minnie doesnt return

Why does everyone look at JT4 or Minnie?

I wonder more about a newcomer who was underwhelming his first year (although I think some stay for a 2nd year before deciding to leave).
