As long as we are talking about real (a lot) of money then the AAC should listen. Should be about the money. If the P5 wants to pay $10-20 million/per school for a G5 playoff, cool let's play!

A. They won't pay anything like that much;
B. What's to prevent them from yanking any money they do offer away once they decide that enough of the public sees the G5 schools as the new I-AA? Once that damage is done to our brands, what incentive would the P5's have to continue subsidizing a G5 playoff?

Here is the thing with a G5 playoff---if there was any real money to be had, then wouldnt those G5 champ vs G5 champ bowl games already exist and wouldnt they already command large paydays? The 4 champs that dont go to the access bowl instead play for peanuts in lower tier bowl games.

That said----interestingly, there is actually reason to believe that there is an audience for those champ vs champ games (for instance, the Vegas Bowl last year that featured the MW champ (SDSU) vs Houston (btw--Houston wasnt the the AAC champ or even the runner up) drew nearly 4 million viewers (3.77 million). So, my guess is G5 champ vs G5 champ bowl games probably would draw well. It will require a network putting up significant money to make those bowls happen---as most G5 conferences would prefer their champ play most any P5 over playing another G5 vs G5 game.

Only way it works is to have the G4 give AAC access bowl spot, and G4 have playoff.

Don't we have to send them a declaration of some sort?

Yes... "We hold these truths to be self-evident..."
