Slight correction 10. That's an MD-88 that DL uses for that flight, not an MD-80. I only know that because I take that flight 894 home to Atlanta on a fairly regular basis and that's what they always use. There was a time however when they took us out on a brank spankin' new Boeing 757 or 767. This thing was sweet. Drop down video screens. They gave flight safete info on the video screens as opposed to the flight attendants doing it. During the flight, the screens would show various advertisements for DL, but for that majority of the flight, they were showing a GPS Satellite map of the southeast and showing us exactly where we were. It was nice.

As for my favorite and least favorite airports, Detroit would have to be my absolute least favorite airport. That place is a dump and not very well laid out. I understand that they've just opened up a new terminal though, so I haven't seen that.

London-Gatwick was nice. Going through customs was relatively painless, and it was well laid out. Haven't been through London-Heathrow.

My all time favorite would be back home at Hartsfield in Atlanta though. I hear a lot of complaints from people who don't go through there very often that it's confusing, but if you take the time to know the airport and how to use it's transportation systems to your advantage, it's not bad. If you have to connect, it helps to pick a connecting flight that's not too terribly close to your arrival time.

I mean, there's a great TGI Friday's in Concourse B, Chili's in Concourse A, Budweiser Brew House also in A, and everything you can imagine in the atrium. Plenty of stuff in Concourses C, D, and E too. Maybe I'm obsessing, but I do love my TGI Friday's mudslides before I fly out. 03-wink

Yeah I like Atlanta too..Confusing? I guess if a straight line is confusing then yeah. 03-lol 03-lol I agree Detroit is also on my least favorite list, too cramped and too many people. The airport in Frankfurt Germany and Geneva Switzerland were not bad.

10-man, I have a 1st cousin that is a pilot for Southwest. He lives in the Dallas suburbs.

He is also a former Marine Corp. pilot and an Ole Miss graduate. (His name is Joe Clement.)

Oddly enough, I met a pilot who was an Ole Miss grad a few years ago in Nashvegas. The reason I know that is because he asked about my Ole Miss hat I was wearing, that's how we got started talking, only to find out that he had gone to OM. Can't remember his name, but there is a slight possibility it was him.

Gawd Still, it was a long time ago, and I have to deal with countless pilots almost daily, so I can't remember what he looked like, but I will definitely keep an eye out for him in the future.....especially his name. His name is pretty familiar to me, anyway.

When you first posted that about your cousin, I was going to PM you and ask you if it was another pilot's name, but you gave his name and it wasn't the one I was thinking of, nor his residence. There is a pilot(also an OM grad) who comes thru Jackson a lot and has offered me and my wife his house in Oxford on football weekends if he's working. That would've been wild if it was your cousin. 03-lol

Hey 10, I heard a rumor recently that I wasn't aware of. I heard that SW actually used to fly to Atlanta a while back, but pulled out to cut some costs. Can you verify? I wish they'd add Memphis and Atlanta.

Hey, being captured by Amazons wouldn't be too bad. If it happens, wait awhile before you pay the ransom. :D 03-razz 03-wink

Never heard we went to Atlanta, Wiz. If we did, it was quite a while back and sometime before I started with them over six years ago. I'll check on that for you and get back to you.

Other cities that I know we use to service are San Fransisco and Denver. San Fransisco we recently pulled out of about 3 years ago, due to costs, and Denver we pulled out of before I was employed there because when they built that new airport in Denver, the landing and parking fees went thru the roof and we pulled outta there.

I'll check on Atlanta, though. My wife just said we have never serviced that, but I'll double-check at work.

Crisp morning air.

The smell of bourbon filling your nostrils, seeing hundreds of beautiful women dressed in red and blue.

Peanut serving tenderloin in his "sky box".

Eli completing over 70% of his passes.

The receiving corps hanging on to their passes.

I can't wait...is it 48 days from today?

Now, you're getting me all pumped up, Still. Oh wait, I already am! :D Yes, you are correct, just over 48 days left!!! 04-cheers

Wiz, I found out what I had already kinda expected, that we never have serviced Atlanta.....the only ones we use to service were the two I mentioned, and Detroit Metro. We still service Detroit, but it's DET.

I wish we did go to Atlanta, but I don't think that's ever going to happen. The 'muddin' airline owns Atlanta, so I'm not sure we could make any money there. Yes, our fares are much cheaper, but Atlantans are kinda loyal to DL.
