Tom Jurich just walked into U of L administration building alone. Lot of speculation that today could be it for he and Rick Pitino.

Five minutes after entering Grawemeyer Hall, Tom Jurich has exited without comment. Whatever transpired inside, it was quick.

Just now asked was Tom Jurich fired? #UofL Pres Postel: We'll report in a little while. @WHAS11
similar thing happened with Pitino:

Rick Pitino just arrived at Grawemeyer Hall

SUV that dropped off Pitino still idling in circle outside Grawemeyer, which indicates this meeting may be brief as well.

Five minutes. Pitino back in SUV and out

Wow-sers.
Would this not constitute a fireable offense? I have no idea what his contract stipulates, but I would think an FBI investigation and possible death penalty should negate the money owed over the next decade.
He hasn't been directly linked yet, only an assistant. So it would require a clause in the contract specifically about that.

However, I hate that these scandals (e.g. Louisville, Baylor, Penn St, SMU) affect so much more than those directly involved. It wasn't the kicker's fault that Sandusky did what he did. It wasn't the women's tennis team's fault that SMU football did what it did.
We are not guilty of the sins of our father or brother, but our own actions have a far greater effect than just to ourselves or those directly involved. People seem to be blinded from the overreach of their bad decisions.
That's why the NCAA should grant immediately transfer eligibility to all affected student-athletes under affected programs. That way it doesn't affect the kids - it only affects the institution and the individuals responsible.
Bingo. I don't blame any player for taking the cash.

I can't imagine they would have to pay a cent to Pitino if they decided to fire him. I think their bigger concern will be what will the NCAA do to their basketball program.

Between the hookers and now this???? Really? I'm not sure how much more out of the loop he could be. He should have had control of the program. It would be interesting to read the contract language.

I think the operative word is yet. At best this would be a failure by Pitino to monitor his assistants. At worst he was fully aware and will never coach college basketball again. If Jim Tressell got a 5 year show cause for not report what he knew after the fact and lying about it what will the NCAA do to Pitino if he is found to be involved in this?

RE: Day of Reckoning for Louisville
I just took a look at the Courier Journal website and two articles caught my eye.
One of the articles had quotes from Pitino's lawyer promising a "bare knuckle fight" and the other was that Tom Jurich's daughter is employed as an "Adidas brand manager".
The optics on this look............bad.

Well, since Louisville is in need of an AD and a basketball coach, I think Jeff Compher and Jeff Lebo would make a great pair.

Hate to say it but I do think the death penalty is a possibility here. Will be interesting to see what the NCAA does.

The "Death Penalty" will never be used.
Crippling sanctions are possible, but not likely.
Most likely the affected schools throw some people under the busses, plead ignorance, and business resumes as normal but toned down.
