Miami is a strong academic school.

Yup...schadenfreude at your own risk.

If you are a school who is in the Top 25 or suddenly just become good too quickly...beware.

I'm under no delusion that my school is totally innocent of this stuff.

I would think UCONN title runs under Calhoun has to raise some red flags.

I've long suspected Calhoun's AAU connections - ever since Coach Williams at Maryland called him out.

You know he was a cheater. They came out of nowhere and then added up stats like a blue blood.

Despite its high profile in basketball, Louisville was added for one reason: football. If it was about basketball, the ACC would have added UConn -- not because UConn is better than UL, but because UConn is similar in basketball but with much stronger academics.

So you don't think this issue (not talking just UL or the schools mentioned) expands beyond basketball? I fully expect this thing to balloon when the coaches and adidas exec starts singing.

Who knows, but the sneaker business is built on basketball. The sneaker companies run the AAU basketball leagues and camps, targeting kids from a young age to align with one company or another. I'm not aware that the same kind of thing goes on in football.

Ever heard of the 7 on 7 leagues? They're sponsored by the shoe companies as well.

While there could be some problems there isn't anywhere near the involvement in 7on7 leagues and college staffs as there is in the AAU circuit and college staffs.

So will Greensboro write an article about kicking out UNC?

This NCAA scandal is about a guy who was caught giving UNC players $ in '15 and then turned informant for FBI. He then went to other schools

UNC has the Journalism program in NC. UNC homers are everywhere in NC and if they fully admit what UNC has done, it diminishes their own degrees. Plus the people who advertise with their papers retaliate. You would be surprised how much revenue comes from legals.

2010 not 2015. Robert Quinn and those guys. UNC went on probation and got bowl ban for the whole Jon Blake fiasco. Do alittle research before you post inaccurate Tweets from former Dookies

he didn't mistype. Just trying to stir up further trouble for the Heels. Seems to me though that UNC has not been getting any of the top recruits during the time of this investigation. They lose out on all of them. Maybe they aren't offering enough?

RE: Greensboro's lead sports story
Anything written coming out of Raleigh is suspect.
Writers Andrew Carter and Dan Kane are in NC State's pocket and slant everything possible against Carolina.

In today's News & Record The headline reads "Apparent FBI informant in scandal had ties to UNC"
and then the closest association they could pin on the informant was that at one time he tried to lure former UNC football players to his financial advising business. Those are some really, really close ties huh?
