Games of Interest
Did anyone else happen to notice that UMass played a tough game at Tennessee, eventually losing to the Vols by four points, 17-13. They are now 0-5, with their largest margin of loss being 10 points (ODU and Coastal Carolina) and their average margin of loss being seven points. I would bet dollars to doughnuts that they are the best team in the country without a win. I can easily think of three to four C-USA teams they would likely beat.

The notion that UMASS is the worst team in FBS is wrong. They would be around I think they would beat 3-4 CUSA teams fairly easily.
They may have actually beat Tenn if Ford didn't get injured.

They won't go winless, but their schedule doesn't augur for many victories either: Maine and Georgia Southern at home are their best bets. FIU on the road is winnable but the dynamics of a December game where both teams are likely out of bowl contention is a crapshoot. Otherwise, Ohio and App State at home are less likely, Mississippi State on the road is tough, and BYU isn't exactly great this year but it's still BYU on the road.

I might take Florida State, but point taken.

UMass beating GA Southern 41-10 with 6 minutes to go in the first half. Man, why couldn't we have GA Southern on the schedule this year?!
UNC could get beat by VT worse than ODU, 28-0 still in the first half.

38-7 still in the first half. Either FAU softens them up for us or REALLY pisses them off.

FAU is good. Real good.
UMass blew out Georgia Southern, would have been a nice year to play them.

It’s becoming clearer that we just played a brutal 4 game stretch. FAU is probably the best team in CUSA and Marshall isn’t far behind. Both are light years ahead of where they were last year. The WKU game was probably the better indicator of where we are as a team.

I think you are right. We arent at the too of CUSA this year but I dont think we are Charlotte bad. Seeing Marshall and FAU trainwreck the conference gives me hope we could have a couple more wins. Next week should be close.

Ran into a devout Heel fan the other day and I reminded him that their only win this year was against ODU. He promptly replied, "but that game took out 3 or 4 of our best players, we haven't been the same since." putting some blame on ODU for their losing streak.... interesting!

Man, their injuries have been devastating. We thought this year was bad for us! There is some truth there, but they've lost a player for the year in every game except UVA I think. Last I saw was something like 17 for the season, probably 6-8 starters.
