Exclamation Game day thread: Troy @ LSU
Troy has one more big statement game against LSU this weekend at 7pm ET on ESPNU.

LSU is going to be missing a few starters: their starting safety Ed Paris has been ruled out for the year, their best defensive player LB Arden Key is rusty and not quite in football shape because of injury (but will still play), starting DE Rashard Lawrence is out, DT Ed Lawrence is out, and as of today their star RB Derrius Guice has been ruled out.

I have a feeling LSU players could truly be looking past Troy a little bit just so they can get revenge on Florida next week.

Most of you remember the whole debacle between LSU and Florida last year after Florida cancelled the game in Gainesville because of Hurricane Matthew. LSU called the Gators pansies for cancelling when it was sunshing in Gainesville on game day. Florida wound up playing the game in Baton Rouge and beat LSU. Florida HC Jim McElwain after the game said of LSU, "They got what they deserved; the score should've been worse."

Troy currently has the #14 run defense in the nation, the #25 scoring defense, #30 in tackles for loss, and #30 in total defense. On offense, Troy is averaging 447 yards per game, despite having some bad luck with punching the ball into the endzone.

How do some you think Troy will do? Both teams have met only twice, but both games were decided in the 4th quarter. In 2004, LSU won 24-20. In 2008, LSU won 40-31.

RE: Discussion: Troy @ LSU
If Troy keeps the penalties down to 0 or minimum we have a good shot imo.

Defense will keep LSU in check and keep us in the game late.

I'll be puling for Troy this week. Give em' Hell. I'm sure you guys remember you have to beat the team in stripes as well. Good luck and take them down!

I'll even pick Troy to win. Let's go with 25-24 with a two point conversion for the win.

Don't beat LSU, all of us UL system schools need Coach O to hang around for a couple more years and really run them into the ground. I'm hoping he turns out the be the second coming of Gerry Dinarndo or Curley Hallman.

Neal brown made reference to 2008 when Troy was leading LSU 31-10 in the 3rd quarter

He was OC back then. I think he wants to revenge that come back loss.

LSU is missing some key guys from a pretty pedestrian offense and Troy's defense can hang with them. The question is can Troy score enough against an always excellent defense in front of a big rowdy crowd. Troy has a punchers chance and I know I hope the Men of Troy can pull it off.

I believe it's possible that Troy can beat LSU, but Troy will need an early swing of momentum in their favor to do so. I'm hoping Troy can pull the upset though and I've been talking to the guys @ work about that very possibility.
