This is when it is good to be a fan of a mid-major. I suspect there are much problems here mostly at the high major level.

The tip of the iceberg.

North Carolina walked scott free after being caught red handed, cheating for 20+ years.
Let's see some big time coaches get fired. Until then, I'll assume it'll all get swept under the rug after years of lawsuits, finger pointing, misdirection, and covering up.

MAYBE a few low level guys/programs get 'punished' so everyone can pretend it was just a few rogue actors.

Just a microcosm of society in general.

RE: OT Men's Basketball Payola Scandal
Just went through the article lightly, but I think Louisville is in trouble for a 2nd time...

"Court papers say at least three top high school recruits were promised payments of as much as $150,000 — using money supplied by Adidas — to attend two universities sponsored by the athletic clothing company. Court papers didn’t name the schools but contained enough details to identify them as Louisville and Miami."

Dear Friends,
Is there a death penalty for college basketball? It seems like these situations seem to come more with college basketball then football.

Some want Louisville to get the death penalty. That program has had problems, problems, problems...

There's an Ypsi kid on that team. Maybe he should just come home and play for EMU.

I don't see him. I wonder if the kid went elsewhere...

BTW, the kid named in the scandal is Bowen. The Louisville paper named him based on the description of events by the FBI and what is known about his recruitment.

I think you're thinking of Jaylen Johnson. He decided to turn pro and wasn't returning to U of L.

Yea I'll believe it when I see it as well. At least it's the FBI this time instead of the NCAA looking at it.

I agree with you. The NCAA has very limited legal and technical resources to conduct a good investigation.

The FBI is as good and tough as it gets. Just ask Paul Manafort. They don't play...

"Court records and sealed complaints released by the U.S. Attorney's office reveal an elaborate, clandestine FBI investigation that involves wiretaps, surveillance video, undercover agents and cooperating witnesses. Here is a look at some of the findings:"

OT Men's Basketball Payola Scandal
Reports are out today that Pitino was the one who would call Adidas directly for payments.

Alabama and Miami admit involvement too.

How could Calipari, the King of recruiting, and one-and-dones, not be neck deep in this stuff?

No way these kids keep flocking to him in droves, just because they like his personality!

Jaylen recently signed with the Bulls.

I think this scandal is going to be wide and deep. If conference coach A cheats, then B needs to. If B does, so do conference coach C. If C does, so do coach D.
